Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – “Double-D” Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing did their best to beat the best in the world on Saturday evening at Lincoln Speedway, and although the team came up just short, capping Lincoln’s Spring Showdown sixth in the main event rundown, they put together a fantastic effort, kicking things off with a heat race victory before finishing seventh in the evening’s dash.
Dietrich, ace of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, was the second-best Posse finisher in Lincoln’s 35-lap, $10,000-to-win main event, following Washington transplant Devon Borden, who finished third in the rundown.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series top-ten result was Dietrich’s sixth top-ten of the year; his second against the Greatest Show On Dirt.
“Overall, a great effort by our team. We wanted to win for our Posse fans, but to gather a top-ten against a field like that is always special,” Dietrich said. “Hats off to all of the fans who came out to support Lincoln. It was cold and windy, but our fans are the best in the world. We couldn’t do it without them.”
