Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / JW MOTORSPORTS – VINCENTOWN, NJ – Despite a wet and gloomy weekend that led to an entire wash for most Pennsylvania hopefuls, Vincentown, New Jersey’s Justin Whittall took advantage of the cancellations at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway and continued preparations for an upcoming tripleheader that will conclude at the nearby Bridgeport Motorsports Park.
The Swedesboro, New Jersey, facility, a short clip from Whittall’s racing headquarters, will host the Pennsylvania Posse on Sunday, April 2, giving Garden State wheelmen like Whittall an opportunity to compete, and ultimately win, in front of their home state fans.
Before Sunday’s $7,500-to-win blockbuster at Bridgeport, Whittall will activate the weekend like any other and visit Williams Grove Speedway on Friday before a quick trip north to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday. Whittall is a prior sprint car winner at each facility, most recently visiting Port Royal’s victory lane platform in October 2022.
Whittall will enter his weekend tripleheader with a pair of top-ten finishes to his credit, one of which at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway, and the second at the Port Royal “Speed Palace.”
“We’re excited to race at home. Not to mention, our plans are usually pretty full of travel with racing in Central Pennsylvania every weekend, so we’re ready to have a short trip home for a change,” Whittall, driver of the JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, Prime Composite Innovations, K Seal, No. 67 sprint car, said. “The weather didn’t give us a chance to race, but with a big weekend ahead, the extra prep time is always welcome.”
