Story By: KING OF DIRT – WEST HAVEN, VT – Zack Welch is an up-and-coming open wheel talent at Utica Rome Speedway on Friday nights, and now becomes the first official entrant for the 2023 JAM Performance King Of Dirt Racing Limited Sportsman Series presented by Fox Racing Shocks.
Welch is in the early stages of his racing career, but he has a championship pedigree. Father Travis Welch serves as his Crew Chief slash car owner, and has won a trio of feature events along with the 2018 Pro Stock track title at Utica Rome Speedway.
Zack blazed his own trail during the 2022 season winning three Limited Sportsman feature events on his way to second place in final point standings at the home of heroes. He’s looking to improve on that by claiming a track title in 2023 and in the process throwing down for the crown with his number 67W HigFab Racing Chassis.
This young man has a whole bunch of support including Ted’s Body Shop LLC, Next Generation Graphix, Certified Auto Outlet, Fastline Performance, New Age Hot Rods, Central Auto Sales LLC, Renski’s Ice Cream Shop, South Town Dairy, Mike & Tammy Johnson, Donath Motorworx, Precision Hydraulic & Oil, Terry’s Custom Coatings, Holbert Logging, TJ’s Lawn Service, Empire Cornhole, Sister Sammy’s, Shults Auto Center LLC, A-1 Installers, Stone Motorsports, Little Boys Shop, Eastwood Detailing, Yankee Barn, Turner Electric, and Ryan Liberatore’s Snap On Tools.
With defending Limited Sportsman Champion Chris Crane Jr. moving up, the crown is vacant and up for grabs to the driver who earns it. Welch can certainly be a driver who climbs on the throne and declares his kingdom.
King Of Dirt Racing is heading into its 8th year of operation servicing drivers in the Northeast. While the format may have shifted from traveling to weekly, it’s still very much real and viable. Anyone looking to get involved with the series as a marketing partner or product sponsor is welcome to contact KOD directly via messenger, phone, or email.
Since 2015 King of Dirt Racing has worked with various tracks in New York State and Vermont to provide a quality home grown racing series experience. Operating through summer months from April to October, KOD has provided proven championship programs for divisions including Small Block Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and Limited Sportsman.
