Ollie’s, America’s largest retailer of closeout merchandise and excess inventory, has expanded its association with the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco for 2023.
Known for it’s 475 “semi-lovely” stores across the country, Ollie’s has taken the role of title ’23 STSS ‘Elite’ Series partner for big-block/small-block Modifieds in the Northeast, while renewing its commitment to the Louisiana- and Texas-based ‘Cajun Region’ as well.
“We’re very proud to grow our successful relationship with Ollie’s,” STSS founder Brett Deyo said. “The marketing team at Ollie’s was pleased with the results of our ‘Cajun Region’ marketing last year and we hope to duplicate that model in the Northeast with the ‘Elite’ program.”
After the scheduled March opener at Md.’s Hagerstown Speedway was postponed due to the weather, the Ollie’s ‘Elite’ Series gets underway at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y., with the ‘Hard Clay Open’ paying $12,000 to win, $2,000 for 10th and $1,000 to take the green flag on Saturday, April 8.
Other ‘Elite’ events take place at Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., on Sept. 3 ($12,000 to win), Fonda Speedway in Fonda, N.Y., Sept. 14-16 ($53,000 to win) and Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., Oct. 12-14 ($50,000 to win). Series officials continue to search for a suitable Hagerstown make-up date.
The third season of the Ollie’s ‘Cajun Region’ presented by Day Motor Sports kicks off at 105 Speedway in Cleveland, Texas on Saturday, April 1. A total of 15 dates at nine tracks are set for the ‘Cajun Region’ competitors in ’23.
