Story By: BRIAN PAIGE / MOHAWK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY – HOGANSBURG, NY – The Mohawk International Raceway and Thompson Motorsports present the Summer Showdown on Wednesday August 9th at the Mohawk International Raceway.
First up it will be the Make up feature for the Sportsman from October 6, 2022 starting on Lap 14 of 30 with $1,200 to win.
Also it will be the Limited Sportsman battling for 20 laps, paying $500 to win. The Pro Stocks will have a 20 lap feature event for $1,000 to win.
After this it will be the Sportsman for 40 laps with $4,000 to the winner of this race. Pro Stocks 20 laps for $1,000 to the winner along with the Limited Sportsman paying $1,500 for 15 laps.
Timed hot laps will begin at 6:30pm with heat races after the make up races. The 40 lap Sportsman race will be open to Modified drivers.
Last October as the rain came down for the Sportsman feature MIR and TMS were originally planning to make this race up in April of 2023.
However the current weather forecast and wet conditions, Wednesday August 9th will be the new date.
