Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / CJB MOTORSPORTS – CARLISLE, PA – The Big E, formally known as Eldora Speedway, is a facility everyone wants to conquer, that including Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, and although the Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based World of Outlaws team was unable to find the top spot of the podium in this weekend’s Let’s Race Two doubleheader, the lap time acquired proved to be just as valuable, already aiming big in what they hope to be a million dollar return to Rossburg, Ohio, later this year.
Bayston, ace of the ever-familiar TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, No. 5 sprint car, finished 13th and seventh in his recent Eldora visits, highlighting the pair with a five spot jump from 12th in Saturday’s Let’s Race Two weekend finale. Simultaneously, a consistent effort allowed the Lebanon, Indiana, native to climb to eighth in the Series standings, padded by nine top-ten performances in 17 World of Outlaws A-main appearances.
“Overall, a weekend to be happy with, but there’s always room for improvement,” Spencer Bayston explained. “Eldora is a place that hasn’t been too kind to me throughout my career. Despite that, I feel like we made substantial gains with the car and my confidence. We raced well on Friday, but I think we had a great car all night on Saturday. A couple of hiccups kept us out of the top-five, but Eldora is a place that can magnify mistakes. As we continue to get laps there, I’m confident I’ll be able to clean up some of those mistakes and really elevate our performances.”
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a swing through the Keystone State, first visiting Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, May 10, followed by back-to-back visits to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13.
