Story By: LINCOLN SPEEDWAY – ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – This Saturday Lincoln Speedway will hold the 2nd Annual Elijah Hawkins Memorial with the 410 sprints competing for $7,000 to win using the PA Speedweek format.
The 358 sprints will also be on the card with two features as they are making up the rained-out feature from June 3 as well as running a full program. In addition to competing for the $7,000 prize, there is also bonus money on the line for quick time, heat race winners and hard charger.
The race is being held in memory of a very special young race fan that lost his life too soon. On July 4, 2021, Elijah succumbed to his injuries from a tragic house fire. Elijah was a very active young boy who was an inspiration to others. He always made sure that everyone he met had a smile on their face. Elijah was an avid baseball player, a talented bowler, a basketball player and he also had a love for sprint car racing. Being in the pits, helping to work on a few of his favorite driver’s cars were his favorite moments. He had a few favorite drivers he always looked up to and rooted for, Landon Myers, Dan Shetler, Chase Dietz, Brent Marks and Kyle Larson.

In addition to the race there will be a silent auction on the stage featuring sheet metal and racing memorabilia from some of sprint car racing’s top drivers. There is also a raffle that will also be located on the stage. The contingency prizes up for grabs are as followed, Quick Time- $250 (Racer Roo), Heat Race Winners – $100/each (Panagraphics, Inc.), Hard Charger – $250 (Livingston Lawn Care), Feature Lap 6 Leader – $100 (Turn 4 Schaszberger Crew), Feature Lap 9 Leader – $100 (Blueberry Hill Farms), Feature Lap 12 Leader – $100 (Old Republic Distillery).
Ticket prices for Saturday, June 10 are $25 for adult general admission, $15 for students (12-17 with photo ID) and pit passes are available for all ages at $35. Pit gates open at 4:30PM, the grandstands open at 5PM and racing is scheduled for 7PM.
