RPW Exclusive: More Racing At OCFS Will Take Place In ’24 Thanks To Doug Dulgarian & Brett Hearn

Column By: MIKE TRAVERSE / RPW – MIDDLETOWN, NY – It was announced Sunday during Doug Dulgarian’s OCFS book release that Brett Hearn and Doug have secured 3 Sunday afternoon/evening race dates this Summer to bring back racing for the 105th season.

The race dates are tentatively scheduled for the following dates:

  • Sunday, June 9th
    • Will also serve as the 18th Annual Nostalgia Night
    • Typically a most popular event at the speedway
  • Sunday, August 4th
    • Will be the 105th Anniversary Race
  • Sunday, September 8th.

The three race series will be referred to as “The Big Series”. Details are still being worked out.

The top 3 point gatherers in the series will start 7th, 8th and 9th in the 64th running of the Eastern States 200.

This is a new venture for this 2 man team. Doug and Brett are in search of partners to help put this series together, If interested in helping with this series, you may contact:

In addition to the race dates, there are four Test and Tune sessions scheduled:

  • Saturday, June 1st
  • Thursday, June 6th
  • Saturday, August 3rd
  • Saturday, September 7th

This is a very positive development for the many people who have been wondering what would be happening at OCFS this season. The question has now been answered.

Now it’s up to the fan base and racers to support these events.
