410’s, RaceSaver Sprints & Wingless Sportsman Saturday Night At Port Royal Speedway
Story By: BRAD STRAWSER / PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY – PORT ROYAL, PA – Port Royal Speedway will host Weikert Livestock 410 sprint cars, Penns Valley Meat Market PA Sprint Series RaceSaver sprint cars and wingless sportsman this weekend sponsored by Bobby Rahal Toyota of Lewistown.
Feature Events:
Weikert Livestock 410 Sprint Cars: The points battle continues to be of interest as the top 2 in points have yet to win an A-main event at the Speed Palace: Chase Dietz and Mike Wagner, separated by 125 points. While Logan Wagner is coming off his 3rd win this season and is now up to 3rd in the overall point standings. The winner of Saturday’s race will take home $5,000 as a part of a $25,000 total purse.
Penns Valley Meat Market 305 Sprint Cars: The 305 division can expect some raised stakes this weekend with their event paying $450 to start the A-main on Saturday and the winner taking home $900.
Wingless Sportsman: Adding to the excitement of the night, the wingless sportsman will be on the card. The last time the division was in competition, Craig Perigo was able to take home the checkered flag.
Second Annual Ron Zimmerman Tribute Race Goes to New Heights in 2024
In a remarkable show of commitment to the racing community, Zimmerman Truck Repair has increased the total purse for the 2nd Annual Ron Zimmerman Tribute Race for the limited late models to an impressive $17,100 for the August 3rd event.
The Ron Zimmerman Tribute race has quickly become a highlight on the limited late model racing calendar. With the enhanced purse, this year’s event is expected to be more competitive and exciting than ever before.
For the 2024 edition of this event, drivers will be competing for a $6,000 to win main event, but also plenty of other contingency prizes including $500 to the fastest driver in qualifying, $250 for heat race winners, a $250 Warrior Award, a $250 hard charger, and $100 for the driver who made the longest tow to the race track that evening.
Fans can look forward to a night of action and great competition with all the money up for grabs. The Limited Late Model A-Main event, with its newly elevated purse, will undoubtedly be the centerpiece of the evening.
