Story By: TIM BALTZ / JPR RACING – KINGSTON, ONT – The 2024 season for the JPR Racing Team and their driver Jessica Power has been solid since the team rolled the number 52 DIRTCar Sportsman machine off the trailer for start of the regular season of local racing.
The team has seen much success this year but is always continuing to find more out of their equipment, as they look to get back to victory lane this year. Here’s a look at what has taken place so far
Beginning the month of May the team claimed a pair of top 10 runs at Brockville and Can Am, which included a 3rd place effort, however from this point forward Jessica and the team have turned in solid performances and no finishes outside of the top 10 this year at her two weekly tracks.
Recently the team made the trip to the Cornwall Motor Speedway for the first time in quite a while. With over 60 entries trying to qualify for the 100 lap event ,Jessica once again showed she can compete with the very best in the Sportsman ranks, qualifying 12th for the race and claiming an 8th place finish at the end of the night.
Overall it has been a great year for the team as they continue to climb the ladder in track points at Can Am and Brockville, sitting sixth in the standings at both Can Am and Brockville. The team just recently began the month of August with a great start towards the chase for the DIRTCar Sportsman series crown. Jessica finished just 10 points shy of the North Regional Series championship. The regional points plus home track points will put her in line with the title contenders as the Championship Tour is now underway.
In 24 starts this year Jessica has scored 10 top 5 finishes including five consecutive across her two weekly tracks, along with 17 top 10s, but with consistency comes feature wins and the team continues to work hard and get to victory lane each week.
The team would like to thank the fans and sponsors for all their support during the year and look forward to continued success to finish out 2024.
