Story By: BRAD STRAWSER / PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY – PORT ROYAL, PA – Port Royal Speedway is excited to get back to action with the 18th Annual Living Legends Dream Race presented by Mike Cleck Paving and powered by Ramsey’s Car Wash this Saturday, August 17th.
The Weikert Livestock 410 sprint cars will compete in twin 25 lap A-main events with each winner taking home $12,500. The 410 events pay a minimum of $700 to start. The combined purses total an impressive $79,350.
In addition to the main events, the USAC East Coast Wingless 360 sprint cars will provide thrilling support, competing for a grand prize of $5,000.
Adding to the overall atmosphere, Pennian Bank will sponsor a money scramble for kids 12 and under. This event was originally scheduled to be a part of the Ron Zimmerman Tribute Race that rained out a few weeks ago but will now be held as part of the Dream Race festivities.
As part of the night’s events, Port Royal Speedway is proud to honor our military heroes with Military Appreciation Night. Any former military member with proper identification will receive a free general admission pass to the race as a token of our gratitude for their service.
Pit gates open at 4:00 PM, general admission gates will open at 5:00 PM with racing action beginning at 7:00 PM. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure their seats and enjoy all the pre-race activities. All tickets can be purchased at the speedway’s ticket windows.
