Story By: BRETT DEYO / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – One weekend. Two big shows. Utica-Rome Speedway rolls into Labor Day Weekend with a pair of programs set for Friday, August 30 and Sunday, September 1.
On Friday, August 30, the 2024 championships at the Home of Heroes will be decided with Championship Night. The 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds, Taylor’s Trailers Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation GraphiX Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders will compete on the half-mile oval, with the Allstar and Junior Slingshots tackling the inner oval.
Champions will be recognized in all divisions.
Grandstand admission is $18 (Adults), $16 (Seniors ages 65 and over) and Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $40 (Non-Members), $35 (Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children ages 5 and under.
On Sunday, September 1, Utica-Rome Speedway hosts the New Yorker presented by Wilcox Construction LLC and Saint Lawrence Radiology featuring a fan-pleasing, double-headline program to include the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Modifieds and the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) 360 Sprint Cars.
The STSS River Valley Builders North Region and Ollie’s Overall championship battles continue at the Home of Heroes with a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win event offering $1,000 for 10th and $500 to take the green flag.
ESS 360 Sprint Cars make their third and final stop at Utica-Rome in a 25-lap program, following a dramatic Cole Cup won by Billy Van Inwegen on Aug. 17. Stewart Friesen won the only other ESS event contested on July 4.
Completing the Sunday program are the Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders, both in non-points events.
Grandstand admission is $30 (Adults), $28 (Seniors ages 65 and above) and Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $45 (Non-Members), $40 (Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children (ages 5 and under).
