The most intense battle is unfolding in the BDK Construction Rush Late Models, where current point leader Dave Dubois holds a slim 7-point advantage over Bill Holmes and a 12-point cushion over Doug Ricotta. Dubois, seeking his second consecutive track championship in the Rush Late Model Division, has demonstrated consistency throughout the 2024 season. Despite being winless this year, he has racked up an impressive 8 top-5 finishes and 9 top-10 finishes in 10 races. A veteran of the sport, Dubois boasts an impressive résumé, having secured multiple track championships in the BRP 360 Late Model Division and now looks to go back-to-back in the Rush Late Models.
Phil Vigneri III has cemented his status as a force to be reckoned with at the Fairgrounds, securing the Stirling Lubricants Sportsman Division Season Championship after the September 7th rainout. This marks Vigneri’s second title in the division, following his previous victory in 2022. Vigneri’s 2024 season has been nothing short of phenomenal, with an unprecedented 8 feature wins in 9 races. His lone blemish was a second-place finish on June 1st, showcasing his remarkable consistency and dominance on the track.
Byron DeWitt is poised to win a championship this Saturday night at the Fairgrounds, as he needs only to make one competitive lap in either a heat race or feature race to secure the 2024 Star Graphics and Apparel Street Stock division Track Championship. DeWitt’s dominance this season has been staggering, with 5 feature wins and 10 top-5 finishes in 11 events. Perhaps most impressive is his unprecedented 10 consecutive heat race victories, with his only heat race loss coming on opening night in April. This potential championship marks DeWitt’s third title in the Street Stock division, following previous wins in 2017 and 2023.
Robert Knapp II’s impressive 2024 season has solidified his position as the frontrunner in The Detail Shop Mini Stock class, holding a commanding 18-point lead over Seth Johnson. After a promising 2023 season, Knapp’s breakthrough was evident early on, dominating with five consecutive feature wins between May and June. His consistency has been remarkable, boasting six feature wins and nine top-5 finishes in 11 races. Competing in the division with the highest car count. This would be Knapp’s first track championship.
Noah Pangrazio is on the verge of securing his first track championship, holding a substantial 23-point lead over Guy Steffen in the Vigneri Racing Novice Sportsman division. Pangrazio’s steady ascent since joining the division in 2022 has been impressive. After finishing runner-up to Joe Mickey in the 2023 standings, he has taken his performance to the next level this season. Through seven races, Pangrazio boasts an impressive record of 3 wins and 6 top 5s in just seven races. Pangrazio will look for a clean night and pick up his first track championship.
On Saturday night, Paige Gayton will look to win a Championship at the Fairgrounds, needing only to complete one competitive lap in either a heat race or feature race to secure her first track championship in the Kolb Family Automotive Bandit division. Gayton’s impressive 2024 season has been marked by dominance, with six feature wins and three consecutive feature victories at the speedway. Her consistency has been equally impressive, boasting nine top-3 finishes in 11 races.
