Outlaw Speedway Prepares For Post-Season Play; NASCAR Night & Ted Siri Memorial Friday

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – With the 2024 Regular Season in the record books, Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri and his staff can focus their attention onto a September filled with special events including the Annual NASCAR NIGHT and Ted Siri Memorial with this year’s event to include the first ever appearance of the USAC Non-Winged 360 Sprints.
“I have always scheduled our NASCAR Night around the activities of nearby Watkins Glen when the Cup Series races there, stated Siri. Generally, it has been in August, however NASCAR moved the date to September this year so now The Glen event will be a part of the Cup Play Off’s”
In keeping with the Outlaw Speedway NASCAR NIGHT Theme, Siri moved his date to coincide with NASCAR at the Glen so the date for the annual affair is now on September 13, 2024.
NASCAR recently released their 2025 schedule of events showing the event at Watkins Glen going back to their more traditional August 10, 2025, date which has been their forte for many years.
With The Glen just a few miles from Dundee, this is always a huge event as many of the race fans that come to Watkins find their way to Outlaw Speedway for their Friday night event and you never know who might show up from NASCAR. Over the years this track has played host to a multitude of NASCAR drivers including the likes of Bobby Allison, Rusty Wallace, Kenny Schrader, Tony Stewart, Curt Bush and Ryan Blaney just to name a few. Numerous crew members, crew chiefs, and car owners have made their way to Outlaw Speedway over the past thirty plus years, many of which keep a low profile and are there just to enjoy the competition.
Track owner Tyler Siri lost his father and his biggest supporter, Ted, on December 18, 2021, after a 22-year battle with cancer. Since that time, the Ted Siri Memorial has been tied to the Annual NASCAR Night and this year’s event promises to be the best yet with the inclusion of the USAC Non-Winged 360 Sprints which will make their first ever appearance at the famed Yates County oval.
“This is an exciting series, claimed track owner Siri. When I had a chance to book the Non-Winged Sprints I jumped at the opportunity. Outlaw Speedway has hosted numerous Winged Sprint Divisions over the years including the ESS and Patriot 360 touring groups, the CRSA 305 Winged Sprints as well as the All-Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprints and this past May the track held its first High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series. However, this will be the first Non-Winged Sanctioned event, and we are really excited about it.”
With the 2024-point battles now in the books, the track will remain silent on Friday, September 6 in preparation for the pair of upcoming shows on September 13 and 20.
At the completion of the Fall Nationals on Sept 20, Outlaw will then remain shuttered until October 18/19 when the track will return to action for the two-day 9th Annual Dutch Hoag Memorial.
Camping at Outlaw Speedway is always free and encouraged.
For the benefit of race fans, a pair of iced cold beer watering stations are located at the track for those of the legal age.
The Turn 4 Tavern in the Main Grandstand Seating Area along with the Outlaw Saloon located in the Pit Area both await thirsty fans.
Celebrating sixty-seven years of great dirt racing action the Outlaw Speedway is located on Rt. 14a just a pitching wedge shot outside of the Village of Dundee, NY.
A short drive from Seneca Falls/Waterloo, Geneva, Penn Yan, Watkins Glen, Corning/Elmira and Bath/Hammondsport.
