Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – ROSSBURG, OH – One of the drivers to watch in any race at a high banked race track is Josh Rice. Wednesday night for the FloRacing Night In America Series, Rice went from 16th to 9th. He then backed up that run by going 22nd to 12th in 18 laps when he had an issue with the right rear shock which ended his Thursday evening for the first Prelim night of the World 100.
Friday night however, Rice’s luck seemed to change at the Eldora Speedway. Josh went from winning the Shootout Feature to finishing third and on the podium for the Group B feature. This run cemented a great starting spot for Josh Rice as he will start 6th in heat race 1 for Saturday’s World 100 event.
“We’re good here for whatever reason,” Rice mentioned after finishing third Friday evening. “I can’t thank my crew enough. I don’t know if anyone had seen but we had to change transmissions after the heat race tonight.”
Rice has always shown speed at the Big E but luck seems to come short for the driver out of Verona KY. Maybe Saturday during the World 100 could be his opportunity to grab a win but he has a hill to climb. Rice’s heat race is stacked with Ricky Thornton Jr, Kyle Strickler, Tim McCreadie, Tim Dohm, and Kyle Bronson all starting ahead of the 11.
“I feel we have a good 100 lap race car, just gotta get this thing into the show.”
