RPW Exclusive: Let’s Get Ready! 2024 Super DIRT Week Paint Scheme Tracker
Column By: DYLAN TERRY / RPW – OSWEGO, NY – It’s almost time to hear the roar of engines at the “home of the super modifieds”, as the world of northeastern dirt racing converges on the city of Oswego.
Known as the “biggest party in all of dirt racing”, Super DIRT Week features a number of traditions each and every year. Whether it be camping at the track, to the vendors and activities each year, everyone in the dirt modified community has some sort of memory from SDW that they will remember from the years that they’ve attended. When it comes to the drivers however, I believe a lot of them can remember years by one of the simplest things to all of us racing fans, and that is the paint scheme that they had on their car in a particular year.
Every year, it seems that many of the drivers entering SDW have had special paint schemes in each event that they have participated. Paint schemes are a way to provide a unique representation for each teams’ sponsors, shoutout special causes, and even potentially attract new fans/generate buzz amongst the thousands of eyeballs that will be tuned into the week-long event during the second week of October.
As a photographer, I speak for us all by saying that we love the ability to shoot photos of these fresh, new designs every time they hit the racetrack. I also remember being a young fan in the stands growing up, picking my favorite driver by what their paint scheme looked like. A paint scheme seems like such a minor detail to some, but to others like myself, it is a way for a car to be etched into our memories forever.
As this year’s edition of the entries to SDW continues to grow, these new paint schemes are starting to be released to the public. With that being said, we here at Race Pro Weekly have you covered. Every single special scheme for Super DIRT Week 52 will be posted below in this article. Stay tuned for more scheme releases, as I will update this periodically as more schemes start to become available.
