Annual Hoag Memorial To Close Out 2024 Season Friday & Saturday At Outlaw Speedway
Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – Since purchasing the Outlaw Speedway nine years ago, track owner/promoter, Tyler Siri will wrap up the season the same way he always has with the Annual Hoag Memorial at the facility.
Named in memory of the legendary, Donald Dutch Hoag of Bath, NY, the traditional year ending event took on a new name last season after the passing of former Black Rock Speedway (now known at Outlaw Speedway) owner Dean Hoag lost his battle with cancer.
“I purchased this facility from Dean and when I did, I wanted to keep the Hoag name alive at the track for years to some. Dutch was a huge fan favorite and one of the best drivers to ever come out of this region, so I decided to end the year with the Dutch Hoag Memorial. When Dean passed away in 2023, I made the change to The Hoag Memorial which includes both Dutch and Dean. They both had great careers, and Dutch was a huge supporter of his son when he ran this place for a decade.” That is according to Tyler Siri.
