Story By: UNITED LATE MODEL SERIES – PITTSBURGH, PA – The Uniontown, Pennsylvania native Michael Lake won his first ever Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Points Championship on Saturday, October 12, 2024 with his tenth place finish in the annual “Steel City Stampede” event!
However, he backed it up with three podium finishes with the series final three events of the 2024 year at the legendary Pennsboro Speedway in the return of the “Mason-Dixon 100”
Lake came into the series largest three day weekend in its twenty-four history confident knowing he didn’t need to worry about points for the weekend. That didn’t stop him from proving to be one of the best teams that unloaded all weekend by never finishing outside the top five! Competing against national stars such as Bobby Pierce, Devin Moran, and Nick Hoffman… the 2024 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver proved he could keep his #27 Longhorn Chassis on Bilstein Shocks powered by Pro Power Racing Engines with Base Fuel up front! Running as best as runner up in the Mason-Dixon 100 event at times!
Michael Lake, who came into the year unsure of the Bobby Lake Motorsports plans and just getting back into the swing of super late model racing after taking some time away from the driver seat set out for not only the 2024 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series Points Championship but also the 2024 Chew On This – Jerky Rookie of the Year award and he did just that! Lake, who signed up as a Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Driver back in early February of 2024 never knew he would set out to have the best year of his career to date.
After speaking with him on Night Two of the “Mason-Dixon 100” at Pennsboro Speedway, Lake noted he had “more fun racing up and down the road with the United Late Model Series in 2024”, this comes after a record season of wins, podiums, top fives and top tens for the team!
Doing all this while racing at new race tracks with different teams week in and week out as the 2024 Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series finished with twenty completed events of the scheduled twenty-five for the year in the three states of Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia!
