Kevin Root Steps Out Of Big Block Modified For 2025; Turns Seat Over To Son, Nicholas

Story By: ROOT RACING – GENEVA, NY – Looking ahead, the 2025 race season will be a little different but in a big way for Root Racing!

Kevin has decided to step out of the driver’s seat to crew chief for his son, Nicholas, going forward, as Nick will be moving up next year to drive the Big Block Modified full-time.

“Kevin, you have had such great success in your 15+ years of racing. Starting off in Go-karts, moving up to Sportsman then finally to Modified, which I know has always been a dream of yours, and you made it come true. You have worked hard for it. You have won so many races and championships over the year’s and should be very proud. I know I am.

Working on cars your whole life and putting all the countless time and effort into this has made you this successful.
Racing is a true family sport and 110% of your life. We have made this work and have had a great life together growing up in racing, making our racing family and friends and raising our son in the racing community.

Nicholas, now with dad’s continued help he will hand all of what he has built up all these years, his experience, knowledge and dedication to you.

You have had great success already only being 16 in the 3 years you have been racing. You have grown up in the garage and by his side every step of the way, and it shows. You have been dad’s crew chief for many years, working on your own car now and have always helped others at the track, and it is such a great thing to see. You are so dedicated and I know you two will continue to do great things going forward.

To both of my boys, your knowledge and drive will make you both successful. It may or may not be a struggle at first. Be patient, work through it, work together and you will figure it out. You will continue to make a great team and do great things.

I see a great future ahead for you Nicholas as long as you keep your head in the game.  Three generations of racing blood is what you have!!
