Story By: NICK GRAZIANO / WORLD OF OUTLAWS – CONCORD, NC – Nick Hoffman and Tye Twarog Racing will return for their third full season with the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models in 2025 after a breakout season in 2024.
After winning the 2023 Rookie of the Year, the Mooresville, NC driver excelled in his sophomore season, scoring five Feature wins, 18 top-fives, and 28 top-10 finishes – placing him third in points heading into the World of Outlaws World Finals with a chance at a title.
“I feel like if we quit now, we’d be kind of defeating the purpose of going after an Outlaw championship,” Hoffman said. “It’s a goal of ours. I don’t think we ever really expected to be going for it in our second year, and it’s still a possibility this weekend.
“It definitely gives us more goals to shoot for next year. Last year, the biggest thing was trying to win Rookie of the Year and we were able to do that. Then, to finish fifth in points was above our expectations. Then, you try to shoot for wins or a podium spot, so realistically next year, we got to really try to go after the championship.”
The gasser of the NOS Energy Drink No. 9 began the 2024 season with a win at Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals, then carried the pace through the year with victories at Farmer City Raceway, Mississippi Thunder Speedway, Brownstown Speedway and Norman County Raceway.
He and team owner Tye Twarog have formed a strong and successful bond, one they hope to grow in 2025.
“I’ve been fortunate to race for a lot of car owners,” Hoffman said. “But Tye has been the easiest as far as giving me all the equipment and leaving it up to me to control my own destiny. He pretty much goes and gets (what we need), and it’s a good relationship to have not just as owner/driver relationship, but as really good friends. That’s super important to have, and I’m lucky enough to not be a part of silly season.”
The upcoming 2025 season brings new twists, tracks, and bigger money on the line. As a former DIRTcar UMP Modified national champion that cut his teeth in the Midwest, Hoffman said he looks forward to visiting Spoon River Speedway and Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 next year – two track he’s won at previously.
“Spoon River is the top of my list of places we’re visiting,” Hoffman said. “Going back to Pevely is home for me. That’s one I’m super excited for. There are some race tracks you have no ambition to go to, so next year I got to have a positive mentality going to those places and get the most out of the night and go to the next one.
“You got to be good at all of them, no matter what. Whether it’s a 1/4-mile or a 1/2-mile, you got to be good at all of them. So, that’s what it takes to win a championship. That’s what we’re focused on and reaching to get next year.”
Before the 2025 World of Outlaws CASE Late Models season begins at Volusia, Hoffman wraps up his title chances in 2024 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the World of Outlaws World Finals, Nov. 6-9.
