Volusia Speedway Park Building Marquee Events For Fab 5 Divisions & National Series For ’25
Story By: NICK GRAZIANO / VOLUSIA SPEEDWAY PARK – BARBERSVILLE, FL – Volusia Speedway Park is putting a brighter spotlight on all divisions racing at the “World’s Fastest Half Mile” in 2025 with a new marquee-event focused schedule.
The Barberville, FL track will host 13 events throughout the season, with the initiative of each race to present a paramount stage for the visiting national series, the Top Gun Sprint Cars and the track’s “Fab 5” – DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, Factory Stocks and 3/4 Modifieds.
“As Volusia Speedway Park evolves, we want to continue to grow its biggest events while adding new ones that grow into marquee races for national and local competitors that have supported the track for years,” said Jeff Hachmann, Executive Director of Events for World Racing Group. “The track is going through a transitional period as we work to build upon this initiative and give fans and competitors the experience they expect from Volusia Speedway Park.”
NATIONAL SERIES EVENTS
The 2025 season at Volusia Speedway Park will open with DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals, Jan. 22-25, featuring the World of Outlaws Late Models, Crate Racin’ USA Late Models and DIRTcar 602 Late Models – a true “Late Model Palooza.”
Each division will get the chance to practice on Wednesday, Jan. 22, before three straight nights of racing, Thursday through Saturday. The weekend will conclude with a $20,000-to-win Feature for the World of Outlaws – a record payout for the event – a $10,000-to-win Feature for the Crate Racin’ USA Late Models and a $3,000-to-win Feature for the 602 Late Models.
Then, Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals will follow the next week with its biggest schedule ever as six Big Gator titles will be handed out. The event has expanded to three weeks with the American Sprint Car Series National Tour making its debut at Volusia, Jan. 30-Feb. 1 – accompanied by the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds.
The next two weeks will see on-track action Monday through Saturday. DIRTcar Modifieds race every night during Week 2 (Feb. 3-8), while the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars will open their season on Wednesday, Feb. 5, with a non-points event and then compete for points Thursday through Saturday.
Week 3 (Feb. 10-15) will showcase four divisions with the USAC Non-Wing Sprint Cars running Monday and Tuesday, DIRTcar Late Models running Monday through Wednesday, Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds running Wednesday through Saturday and the World of Outlaws Late Models running Thursday through Saturday.
A few weeks later, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return to Volusia during Florida’s iconic Bike Week for the two-day World of Outlaws Bike Week Jamboree, Sunday-Monday, March 2-3.
FAB 5
DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, Factory Stocks and 3/4 Modifieds will make up Volusia Speedway Park’s “Fab 5” team in 2025. Factory Stocks will follow the Southern States Track Alliance unified Factory Stock rules.
The five divisions will see the most racing throughout the season at Volusia with the UMP Modifieds racing 21 nights, the 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models and 3/4 Modifieds each racing 12 nights, and the Factory Stocks racing 10 nights.
Six events on the schedule will be dedicated to highlighting the “Fab 5,” including the Spring Fling (March 22), Short Track Showdown (April 26), Firecracker Showdown (June 14), Summer Sizzler (July 12), Fall Classic (Oct. 25) and The Prelude to the Reutimann (Nov. 15) – which will lock the winner of the UMP Modified race into the Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial.
The minimum to-win for the divisions will be:
- 604 Late Models – $1,500-to-win
- 602 Late Models – $1,000-to-win
- DIRTcar UMP Modifieds – $1,000-to-win
- Factory Stocks – $500-to-win
- 3/4 Modifieds – $300-to-win
Division champions will be crowned, and the drivers will be honored at the year-end awards banquet on Sunday, Nov. 30.
FAMILIAR FAVORITES
The rest of the 2025 schedule will be filled with fan-favorite series and events.
Top Gun Sprint Cars will run two events at the track – the Top Gun Classic on Saturday, May 17, and the return on the Battle in Barberville on Saturday, Sept. 20. Both events will pay $2,000 to the Top Gun winner and feature DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, Factory Stocks and 3/4 Modifieds with the Sprint Cars.
The Labor Day Classic returns to a three-day event with a practice night on Friday, Aug. 29, followed by two nights of Feature action, Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 30-31. The first night will showcase DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models and 3/4 Modifieds.
The final night of the Labor Day Classic will “up the ante” with a stout purse that pays $2,500-to-win for the 604 Late Models, $1,500-to-win for the 602 Late Models, $1,500-to-win for the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and $750-to-win for the Factory Stocks.
Volusia Speedway Park will conclude its 2025 season with the prestigious 12th Annual Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial, Nov. 20-22. 602 Late Models and Factory Stocks will join the field of DIRTcar UMP Modifieds on Friday night, while the 604 Late Models and 3/4 Modifieds will join them on Saturday night.
The Modified event will, again, feature the best UMP Modified drivers in the country competing for the $10,000 payday and iconic tractor trophy on Saturday.
With the transitional period for the track, there will be no karting schedule in 2025.
