Column: Crate Sprint Cars Return To Brockville Ontario Speedway For 2025 Season

Column By: JIM CLARKE / BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY – BROCKVILLE, ONT – Saturday night favorites are getting ready to rock at Brockville Ontario Speedway.
Opening night for 2025 is booked for Saturday, May 10th at the popular clay oval and the Surprenant Truck Shop Crate Sprint Cars are back on the weekly menu at ‘The BOS’. Since 2021 the winged warriors have been part of the regular line-up with close to 20 teams taking the green flag in at least 1 feature event during last year’s schedule.
Track owner and promoter Paul Kirkland – who will begin his 31st consecutive season of operating the Eastern Ontario venue – says having the Sprint Cars on the schedule has proven to be a strong addition to the raceday program.
“Having the Sprint Cars as one of our weekly divisions has been a good call by our promotional team,” said Paul Kirkland. “Whether part of our regular Saturday night program or a touring series, we’re committed to giving our fans the best show for their money and the Surprenant Truck Shop Crate Sprint field is no exception.”
It was a year of consistency for Lee Ladouceur as he scored his second straight Sprint Car championship in 2024. The Alexandria, Ontario racer – who also finished 12th in Brockville Speedway’s Small Block Modified point standings – scored just a single feature event win but had 9 top 5 finishes in 10 starts. Adam Turner, Ryan Poole, Josh Verne and Mark Surprenant rounded-out the top 5 in the final standings.
Ladouceur also claimed Brockville’s Sprint Car title in 2023, with Ryan Poole winning the crown in 2022 and Matt Billings earning the inaugural championship after the 2021 season.
Saturday night short track notebook: In addition to the weekly Surprenant Truck Shop Crate Sprint Car action, Brockville Ontario Speedway will also host a pair of Empire Super Sprint shows during the upcoming season.
Saturday, June 21st and Saturday, August 2nd will be the 2025 ESS dates…the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds will also visit the Eastern Ontario oval on a pair of occasions. First on the agenda will be a Wednesday, July 23rd showcase paying $7,500 to win.
The popular tour will also make its long-awaited return to the Northeast Fall Nationals – Saturday, October 17th – for the first time since 2015, with a $10,000 winner’s payday.
