Mall Shows & 2024 ‘Night Of Champions’ Banquet Set For Fonda & Utica-Rome

Story By: BRETT DEYO / FONDA & UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – Charging into 2025. Fonda Speedway (Fonda, N.Y.) and Utica-Rome Speedway (Vernon, N.Y.) are heading full-speed into the 2025 season.
Dates have been set for the mall car shows and ‘Night of Champions’ Awards Banquet for both venues.
The annual Fonda Speedway Racecar Show is set for Friday-Sunday March 21-23 at the ViaPort Rotterdam at 93 West Campbell Road Schenectady, NY 12306. The show takes place during mall hours. To register, contact Jamie Page at jpage15@stny.rr.com.
For the first time ever, Utica-Rome Speedway offers a Racecar Show at Sangertown Square Mall at 8555 Seneca Turnpike New Hartford, NY 13413. The show is set for Friday-Sunday March 28-30. Jamie Page is handling registration via e-mail at jpage15@stny.rr.com.
Top 2024 performers from Fonda and Utica-Rome will be recognized on Saturday, March 8 at the Roselawn Banquet Facility in New York Mills, N.Y., in conjunction with neighboring Brookfield Speedway (Brookfield, N.Y.) and the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco.
The following teams will share in the ‘Night of Champions’ Awards Banquet from Fonda and Utica-Rome:
- Thunder on the Thruway Series – Top-10
- Modified – Top-10
- Sportsman – Top-10
- Pro Stock – Top-10
- Limited Sportsman – Top-10 (top-five paid)
- Four Cylinder – Top-10 (top-five paid)
- Slingshot – Top-5
Doors open and Cocktail Hour begins at 4 p.m. Dinner and awards will follow at 5 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now for $50 each and include a buffet-style dinner (cash bar).

The ticket purchase deadline is March 1.
Fonda Speedway opens its 2025 season on April 12 with an Open Practice. One week later, the Season Opener honoring Jumpin’ Jack Johnson kicks off the point championship battle on April 19.
Utica-Rome Speedway gets the green flag with Open Practice Friday, April 11 and the Honoring Alex Season Opener is set for two days later on Sunday, April 13.
