Ransomville Speedway’s Annual Registration Meeting Kicks Off 2025 Season

Story By: STEVEN PETTY / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – The Ransomville Speedway and The Little R hosted their registration meetings to start the 2025 season on Sunday at the Ransomville Fire Hall.

Drivers had the opportunity to get questions answered by the staff and management, register their racecars, and sign up for memberships, pit passes, and season passes.

In order to compete for points/end of the year awards and point fund monies, a Ransomville Speedway membership is required. Cut off dates to purchase are June 5th for the Little R and June 6th for the Big R. If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can call the office to purchase or do so on opening night.

It was announced that Greg Hixson will be the Ransomville Speedway Race Director for the 2025 season. Hixson has been the long time Race Director at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua. John Panattoni was also named the new Pit Steward. It was announced that there will be a Rick Zachary Dash for Cash as part of the Summer Nationals.

Rick Zachary was the longtime official and instrumental in the execution of the nightly events who passed away during the offseason. It was also announced that the handicapping system will be coming back to determine the starting lineups. The Novice division will be implementing a four-win max system. If a driver wins four races, that driver will be moving up to the DIRTcar Sportsman class.

The rules for The Little R will be aligning with rules from other regional speedways. The schedule for the Little R is now available online at www.ransomvillespeedway.com under the karting tab. The speedway will be utilizing a two-drop system, with the drivers two worse finishes getting removed before the final points night of the season.

Speedway management would like to thank the returning divisional sponsors, Performance Manufacturing (Karting Series sponsor), Burris Racing Tires, Mike Barry Motors (Sr Heavy), Fisher’s Auto Repair (Sr Lites), Frontier Auto Wrecking (Jr. 3), Bud’s Apple Pie (Jr 2), and Reid’s Drive In (Novice). A new divisional sponsor for the Jr 1 division will be announced in the coming weeks.

Upcoming events include the 36th Syracuse Motorsports Expo March 8 & 9 at the New York State Fairgrounds. Also back on the schedule is the return of the Ransomville vs Merrittville Bowling Tournament on March 22 at Brad Angelo Lanes.
