Short Track Super Series Takes On All-Tech Raceway For ‘Sunshine Swing’ Wednesday To Saturday

Florida’s pristine All-Tech Raceway and the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco get it started with the sixth annual ‘Sunshine Swing’ featuring the Modifieds and Sportsman.
Four consecutive days of racing kick off on Wednesday (Feb. 5) following a Tuesday (Feb. 4) Open Practice session.
More than $120,000 in purse money plus bonuses and contingency awards will be distributed during the week of racing in the Sunshine State.
Modifieds compete for a graduating pay and lap structure throughout the week: 30 laps, $4,000 to win Wednesday, 35 laps, $5,000 to win Thursday, 40 laps, $6,000 to win Friday and 50 laps, $7,500 to win Saturday.
Thursday night’s main event marks STSS Modified feature No. 200 since the series inception in April 2014.
Sportsman teams battle for 25 laps and $1,500 to the winner on Wednesday and Thursday before the laps increase to 30 and top prize to $2,000 on Friday and Saturday.
Wegner Automotive of Markesan, Wisc., presents the ‘Sunshine Swing’ overall championships paying $1,500 for the Modifieds and $1,000 for the Sportsman.
The ’25 ‘Sunshine Swing’ marks the fifth appearance by the STSS at All-Tech. The series competed at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway once, in 2021.
Seven different drivers have scored STSS Modified victories on Florida soil since the series made its debut in 2020. Stewart Friesen tops the win list with five victories. Rival Matt Sheppard has four Florida triumphs, three of which came last February.
Erick Rudolph is the only other multi-time winner with a pair of checkered flags. Single-event victors include David Schilling, Michael Maresca, Larry Wight and Mike Gular.
Eleven drivers have recorded STSS Sportsman wins in Florida.
Payton Talbot leads with three victories. Michael Ballestero and Stephen Kemery each have a pair of wins. James Michael Friesen, Brian Calabrese, Dylan Madsen, Scott Hitchens, Steve Davis, Tanner Van Doren, Grant Hilfiger and Antonio Ballestero each possess a single victory.
