Story By: KASEY KREIDER / LINDA’S SPEEDWAY – JONESTOWN, PA – In preparation for the 2025 season of racing at Linda’s Speedway – the 50th in the track’s long and storied history – competitors across several different divisions had the opportunity to break in the track’s new surface for the first time and shake down their vehicles in advance of next Friday’s season opener.

In spite of some inclement weather, more than 50 competitors stuck through the rain and were given three separate sessions across roughly two hours of on-track time to test out their machines, get a feel for the track, and work out any of the kinks that may not have been caught during winter preparation.

The diversity of competition at the famed quarter-mile was on full display with the wide variety of different divisions in attendance. 270 Micro Sprints, 600 Micro Sprints, and PA Micro Midgets were all in attendance to represent the open-wheel classes, while 600 Modifieds, Slingshots, Chargers, Front Wheel Drives, and Legends gave plenty of fendered flare to the on-track festivities as well.

Even a Street Stock – piloted by Tommy Dawson – took some laps around the quarter-mile in preparation for their event as part of “Stock Car Mayhem,” coming to Linda’s Speedway on July 4.

The 50th season of on-track excitement at the Linda’s Speedway begins next Friday, April 4, with a full-throttle four-division thriller. The 270 Micro Sprints and Wingless 600 Micro Sprints will kick off their season alongside the Chargers and the Junior Slingshots. Gates open at 5 p.m., with on-track action beginning at 7 p.m. General admission remains at a family-affordable $5 for the 2025 season.
