RPW Exclusive: Stowe Takes Top Prize At Fayetteville’s Speedweek Finale; Battle Of Boom City Looms

Column By: CHARLES WISLER / RPW – FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The thunderous roar of engines marked the end of Fayetteville Motor Speedway’s four-day Speedweek series on Saturday, as a large crowd witnessed a thrilling culmination of racing action.

With over 20 competitors in four of the six featured classes, the competition was fierce, but it was Chris Stowe who ultimately triumphed in the 525 Late Model Mid-East Modifieds feature.

Stowe, starting in fourth position, skillfully navigated the track to secure the $3,000 prize, showcasing exceptional driving prowess. The 525 Late Model class delivered a particularly exciting race, with drivers pushing their machines to their limits throughout the event.

The Speedway’s Speedweek, a regional motorsports highlight, lived up to its reputation for delivering high-quality racing and entertainment. The event featured a variety of classes, ensuring a captivating experience for all racing fans.

And in a bit of personal observation, some of these drivers definitely have a future as pilots. They displayed a remarkable understanding of the “wheels up” command, and thankfully Fayetteville Regional Airport is only five miles away.

As the Speedway emptied, fans left with the excitement of the races fresh in their minds, but the anticipation doesn’t stop there. Fayetteville Motor Speedway’s next big event, “The Battle of Boom City,” is scheduled for March 13-15.

Race fans can look forward to a thrilling Mid-east Street Stock race with a hefty $15,000 prize for the winner. Mark your calendars, as more exciting racing action is just around the corner.
