Rudeen Family Honors Rayce Rudeen Foundation With High Limit Racing Rookie Of The Year
Story By: BRIAN WALKER / HIGH LIMIT RACING – MOORESVILLE, NC – Kevin and Monika Rudeen continue to support Sprint Car Racing by shining a bright light with their passion of honoring their son Rayce Rudeen.
In 2025, the creation of the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year Award will pay the top rookie with Kubota High Limit Racing a $5,000 check and go a long way in empowering communities to fight addiction.
In 2016, Kevin tragically lost his son Rayce to an overdose. To honor his life and keep his memory alive, his family started a private foundation to help others. Today, the Rayce Rudeen Foundation is a certified nonprofit that gives grant money to the organizations and programs that address the disease of addiction and encourage a healthy, productive life, free from addiction. It is their goal to help fill the gaps in a broken system of addiction, treatment, and recovery.
“From all accounts, Rayce Rudeen was a passionate, adventurous young man much like the four drivers vying for the Rookie of the Year award named in his honor,” said Kendra Jacobs, Kubota High Limit Racing’s Chief Marketing Officer. “The Rudeen family has quickly become an integral part of Kubota High Limit Racing, but more than that, we consider them friends. We share in their commitment to fight the disease of addiction.”
Four drivers are currently committed to chasing the inaugural Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year Award with Kubota High Limit Racing this season.
- 20-year-old Chase Randall from Waco, Texas – driving the Randall #9
- 20-year-old Daison Pursley from Locust Grove, Oklahoma – driving the Buch #13
- 22-year-old Danny Sams III from North Port, Florida – driving the Randerson #24D
- 27-year-old Sye Lynch from Apollo, Pennsylvania – driving the Lynch #42
Randall, Pursley, Sams, and Lynch will begin the 60-race battle for Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year honors next weekend when the 2025 campaign begins at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Thursday and Saturday, March 13 and 15.
The Rayce Rudeen Foundation will be prevalent in many more ways throughout the year, including aboard the Rudeen Racing #26 with full-time High Roller Justin Peck and at Washington’s Skagit Speedway during the $102,626-to-win Skagit Nationals on August 28-30.
The family will also continue to host the popular Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race. This year, the $26,000-to-win event will join the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series and move to Francis Creek, Wisconsin’s 141 Speedway on Tuesday, June 3. Previous winners of the famed Rayce Rudeen Foundation custom guitar trophy include NASCAR champions Tony Stewart and Kyle Larson, All-Star Circuit of Champions titlist Zeb Wise, PA Posse star Anthony Macri, and High Roller Rico Abreu.
