Short Track Super Series’ Port Royal Speedway ‘Speed Showcase’ Is Almost Here

On Friday-Saturday March 14-15, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco leaves Florida behind and moves on to the Keystone State for the ‘Speed Showcase’ at the pristine Port Royal Speedway.
The half-mile oval known as the ‘Speed Palace’ comes to life with the STSS Modifieds, STSS Sportsman and Pro Stocks in competition.
The opening round of the NJ Quality Drywall South Region for Modifieds is set with a 60-lap event paying $12,000 to the winner, $4,500 for fifth, $2,000 for 10th and $1,000 just to take the green flag from a total purse of more than $73,000.
STSS Sportsman launch the Belmont’s Garage South Region in a 40-lap main event offering a $4,000 top prize after 40 laps.
Pro Stocks complete the program in a 25-lap, $1,250-to-win program for the full-fender contingent.
A three-days-in-two program will set the stage for the ‘Speed Showcase’ event.
On Thursday (March 13), the facility will be open for hauler and camper parking from 4-9 p.m.
For Friday, pit gates open at 8 a.m., along with camper parking. An open practice session is set from 10 a.m.-noon before the red clay goes silent for afternoon prep work.
Qualifying Night is set for Friday (March 14) featuring 15-lap Modified Qualifiers, 12-lap Sportsman Qualifiers and 8-lap Pro Stock heat races. Friday night Penske Racing Shocks Hot Laps begin at 6 p.m., with racing at 7 p.m.
On Saturday (March 15), the pressure intensifies. Consolations serve as a prelude to the three main events: 60-lap, $12,000-to-win Modifieds, 40-lap, $4,000-to-win Sportsman and 25-lap, $1,250-to-win Pro Stocks.
Gates open at noon on Saturday with hot laps at 2 p.m. and racing at 3 p.m.
Dry (non-hookup) camping will be first-come, first-served.
