Story By: BRETT DEYO / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – In 2024, we survived. In 2025, we thrive.  Armed with a new surface and palpable excitement, Fonda Speedway readies for its fast-approaching 74th season.

Last fall, the half-mile Track of Champions was reworked with a fresh clay surface. Track crews have already graded, tilled and worked the clay leading into the first on-track activity of the season on April 12.

Speedway promoter Brett Deyo – entering his seventh year – in partnership with marketing partners has announced a purse increase for the headline Amsterdam Truck Center Modified division.

The initiative boosts payouts for drivers finishing sixth through 10th, respectively, on a weekly basis with the 10th-place Modified driver receiving $700.

“This increase will go a long way to keeping our teams on the track,” Deyo said. “We will now offer the most lucrative top-10 payout for Modifieds in the Northeast at the Track of Champions. We will work with marketing partners on some specials for our other divisions, as well.”

Speedway management has also initiated a 358-Modified Bonus Program. The highest-finishing 358-Modified following Can-Am Motorsports Park rules (American Racers permitted for Saturday programs) will receive a $250 bonus every Saturday night.

Local businesses looking to present one or more 358-Modified bonuses can reach out to the speedway at fondaspdwy@gmail.com.
