Hollenbach & McNichol Open 50th Season Of Linda’s Speedway In Victory Lane

Story By: KASEY KREIDER / LINDA’S SPEEDWAY – JONESTOWN, PA – The gates swung open on Friday evening for the first race night of the 2025 season at the Linda’s Speedway.
With this being the 50th year of competition at the Jonestown quarter-mile, the stage was set to kick off Linda’s Speedway’s “golden anniversary celebration” in style.
Perhaps it was apropos that the first night of this special season – which pays tribute to the past, present, and future of the legendary speedway – featured a multi-time track champion making a return to the winner’s circle in one race, while the other feature saw a first-time Linda’s Speedway victor.
Five-time Linda’s Speedway champion Eric Hollenbach followed up his title-winning season in 2023 with a winless 2024 campaign. But on Friday night, he reigned supreme in the first Bernheisel Race Components Chargers A-Main of the season.
Despite being down a cylinder for the majority of the 20-lap affair, Hollenbach kept defending champion Chris Warren and a hard-charging Ian Herr at bay to put the No. 711 back in victory lane and lead a 1-2 finish for the Kimmel Racing team.
The Hoffer Paving Junior Slingshots kicked off their season on Friday night as well, and it was Hellertown’s Landon McNichol triumphing at the end of the 15-lap feature for his first Linda’s Speedway win.
McNichol started on pole but lost the lead to Barry Seaman early in the race. However, a late-race restart gave McNichol an opportunity to snatch the advantage back, and the No. 72 made the race-winning pass with two laps to go, leading Seaman and Aubrey Romig across the finish line.
Unfortunately, following a day-long battle with inclement weather, Mother Nature got the last laugh before the Mt. Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprint and Hoosier Tire Wingless 600 Micro Sprint features could be contested. Both of those feature events were postponed, and will be made up at a later date to be determined.
Linda’s Speedway returns to action next Friday, April 11, with a special Skeet Craft Collision 270 Micro Sprint Time Trial Series event in honor of inaugural National Open champion Judi Bates. The Winged 600 Micro Sprints, All Star Slingshots, Front Wheel Drives, and Junior Sprints will all open up their 2025 seasons on next weekend’s calendar as well.
