Linda’s Speedway Is Preparing For An Unforgettable Night Of Action Friday Evening
Story By: MIKE BATZ / LINDA’S SPEEDWAY – JONESTOWN, PA – The gates at Linda’s Speedway will swing open at 5pm Friday night with the engines roaring for hot laps at 7pm and then racing at 7:30pm.
With an unbeatable $5 general admission, fans will witness a spectacular lineup featuring the Skeet Craft Collision 270 Micro Sprint Time Trial Series Opener, Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic 600 Micro Sprints, Jr. Sprints, All Star Slingshots, and the fiercely competitive GP Motorsports Front Wheel Drive Cars.
Friday night’s event is packed with action: the Slingshot Mini Series blasts off, Jr. Sprints celebrate “Mike’s Birthday Bash,” and the main event—the $500 to win 270 Micro Sprint Time Trial Series—honors the legendary Judi Bates.
Throughout this week, Linda’s Speedway highlights today’s stars alongside Bates’ pioneering career. Fittingly, our spotlight first shines on Billy Logeman, piloting Mike Rutherford’s always-threatening entry.
Rutherford, familiar with Bates’ impact, is sure to bring his finest piece to the show as Logeman stands as a leading contender in every time trial race he enters.
Let’s start the journey through some of Judi Bates career highlights in 1998, a landmark year in Judi’s storied career. Tackling an exhausting 60-race schedule with the All Star Circuit of Champions, Bates did more than compete battling against America’s elite drivers on some unfamiliar tracks, Judi showcased her resilience.
Wheel-to-wheel with legends like Kenny and Dean Jacobs, Joey Saldana, and Keith Kauffman, Judi consistently delivered solid finishes, cementing her reputation to have the right to be there.
When the closed many were astonished with Judi’s 8th in the season points standings. Impressively, she even edged out future Indy racing star Sarah Fisher. Judi’s grit placed her in esteemed company with the All Stars that year, alongside greats such as Jeff Shepard, Greg Hodnett, Kevin Gobrecht.
