Outlaw Loses Cal Lane Memorial Spring Nationals For Third-Straight Year; Moved To Sept. 19th

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – After a successful Open Practice on Friday, April 4, it has been tough sledding for Tyler Siri and his staff at the Outlaw Speedway.
For the third time in as many years the Lucas Oil Nationals which were to be run on Saturday, April 5 was scrubbed due to inclement weather.
Likewise, the entire weekend of events for the 3rd Annual Cal Lane Memorial which was to go off this weekend on Friday and Saturday April 11 and 12, 2025 has also been KO’d due to a forecast of rain, snow and cold temperatures.
“There is not really a lot of room for debate on the past two weekends of cancellations, exclaimed Outlaw Speedway Owner/Promoter, Tyler Siri. The Spring weather that we have been experiencing in this region has not been conducive to racing. It has been very cold with snow and rain almost every day. We will try it again next Friday, April 18 with the running of the Mike Jackson Memorial.”
Similar to the Lucas Oil Nationals, the Cal Lane Memorial likewise has been cancelled for the third straight year, however there is light at the end of the tunnel as Siri will now move the 3rd Annual Cal Lane Memorial presented by Lane’s Yamaha to Friday, September 19, 2025 as part of the 10th Annual Outlaw Speedway Fall Nationals.
“This will make the third straight time that we have moved the Cal Lane Memorial to the fall after the spring cancellation. The Lane Family has been a huge part of this track for over 50 years, and we will make every attempt to get it into the books.” That once again according to Siri.
Tyler Siri along with his loyal staff of employees and the large contingent of drivers and teams that support the track as well as countless fans that show up each week to witness fantastic racing on Outlaw Speedway’s ultra smooth and wide Fast 4/10 of a Mile Oval will have to wait one more week for the Annual Mike Jackson Memorial at the popular Yates County Facility.
If history is to repeat itself the Jackson Memorial will go into the record books as planned next week with last season’s Lucas Nationals as well as the Cal Lane Spring Nationals both lost to weather. The Jackson Event was successfully run off in 2024 with it being the only event successfully completed in the month of April of “24”.
The Knapp and Schlappi Lumber Crate Sportsman will run for a hefty $1919 to win with lap money also going out as part of the Annual Mike Jackson Memorial.
Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds will find the winner of the feature event, taking home a check for $4019.
Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks race for $1519 to win and the Winner’s Circle Deli 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks racing for $1019 to win with the “19” being symbolic with the car number that Jackson ran throughout most of his career.
In addition, the CRSA 305 Winged Sprints will join the party making their first of several appearances at the historic Yates County Oval in 2025. The winner of the CRSA feature claims $1,000.
