RPW Exclusive: Birthday Breakthrough For Troy Van Allen In Mod Lites At Rockfish Speedway

Column By: CHARLES WISLER / ROCKFISH SPEEDWAY – RAEFORD, NC – Troy Van Allen celebrated his birthday in style at Rockfish Speedway on Saturday night, clinching his first victory of the 2025 season in the fiercely competitive Mod Lite division.
The win was particularly gratifying for the Bounty Hunter Racing team, as they had overcome frustrating fuel delivery issues that plagued their previous two outings. The hard work paid off just in time for Van Allen to enjoy a birthday trip to victory lane.
Van Allen’s victory wasn’t without its challenges, as Donovan “Action” Jackson mounted a relentless charge from the outside line throughout the Mod Lite feature race. Jackson, known for his aggressive driving style, kept the pressure firmly on Van Allen.
However, Van Allen remained steadfast, piloting his machine to a flawless race and expertly fending off every attempt by Jackson to overtake him. The Bounty Hunter Racing crew erupted in joyous celebration as Van Allen crossed the finish line.
The preliminary heat races were marked by significant incidents, with three rollovers adding a dramatic element to the evening. Two of the flips occurred in the always-exciting 600 micro sprint heats, involving drivers Caleb Scarborough and Andrew Daugherty.
The mod lite heat race also saw a car go upside down, with Richie Young as the unfortunate driver. Demonstrating the resilience of the racing community, both Daugherty and Young managed to get their cars repaired and returned to compete in their respective feature races.
However, Daugherty’s luck ran out later in the night when he was involved in another rollover during the 600 micro sprint feature.
In the 600 micro sprint feature race, Brody Snyder continued his strong start to the 2025 season. Starting from the pole position, Snyder dominated the event, leading every lap and securing his second victory at Rockfish Speedway this year in convincing fashion.
The Junior Sprint division saw Mason Rosser maintain his unblemished record at Rockfish Speedway. He powered his way to his third consecutive victory, further solidifying his dominance in the class.
Adding to the family success of the night, Brayden Jackson, Donovan’s son, celebrated his own milestone. In his rookie season, the young Jackson drove impressively to a close second-place finish in the Junior Sprint feature, mirroring his father’s result and securing his first-ever top-five finish. Liam Poston also had reason to celebrate in the Junior Sprints, marking his birthday with a solid 4th place finish in the feature race.
The next event at Rockfish Speedway is eagerly anticipated and scheduled for May 10th.
