Grandview’s Set To Complete May 17th Race Card Saturday Featuring Mods, Sportsman & More

Story By: JEFFREY AHLUM / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – After an abrupt end to racing last Saturday night due to the weather, Grandview Speedway plans to conclude the same NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series race program from where it left off this Saturday night May 24.
Racing last Saturday night came to an early end when rain arrived at the Speedway following heat race number two for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds, halting the program. After a short delay track crews went to work trying to recover the speedway surface, only to have more rain arrive shortly thereafter ending the night’s action after six qualifying races had been completed, which also included four qualifying heat races for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division which started the night’s racing activities.
Track management will resume this same show where it was halted, this Saturday night May 24, starting with T.P. Trailer Modified qualifying heat races number three and four, followed by two consolations, then two consolations for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman, followed by the 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified and 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman feature races. The Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars will also be on the program as originally scheduled.
All grandstand tickets and pit wristbands from the May 17 show will be honored for the completion of the event this Saturday, May 24. All patrons must turn in their May 17 tickets or wristbands at the ticket windows and receive a new ticket or wristband for the May 24 event.
Any new fans attending that were not at the May 17 show will see adult grandstand admission set at $15, students 10-15 with ID will be $5, while children 9 and under are admitted for free. Pit admission remains the same for any newcomers at $35 with a license or $45 without a license.
Any drivers not in attendance at the May 17 event, may join the program in either division, but will be starting at the rear of a consolation event.
Pit gates will open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.
This Saturday night prior to the racing program will be the weekly Low Down and Dirty meet and greet hosted this week by Brittany Huber. The drivers scheduled to participate include Modified driver Louden Reimert, Sportsman driver Nate Horn, and Vintage driver Gage Phillips.
The pre-race Meet and Greet is held in the main gate area starting at 5 pm and is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers before the night’s program gets underway.
Entering this week’s action T.P. Trailer Modified drivers that are already qualified from heats one and two last Saturday are Logan Watt, Mike Gular, Clay Butler, Doug Manmiller, Ron Haring Jr., Nick DeSantis, Chris Gambler, Mike Laise, Tim Buckwalter and Ryan Grim, with heats three and four still to run.
