Patrik Daniel Scores At 105 For Fourth Southern States Modified Series Win Of 2025
Story By: TIM BATES / SOUTHERN STATES MODIFIED SERIES – CLEVELAND, TX – Corey Oltz seemed to be well on his way to his first Southern States Modified Series victory, running a masterful race in the 25 lap feature.
However, Oltz relinquished the lead with ten laps left under a caution with an overheating engine.
Anthony Meek led Corey Oltz through the opening laps, with Meek flexing his muscle early but engine problems would force the 52M to the infield on lap three. On the restart Corey Oltz jumped to the lead but had a handful with Patrik Daniel breathing down his neck. Looking further back Tommy Rascoe was rolling strong and was up to third.
Oltz didn’t have any more breathing room out front with Daniel all over his rear bumper applying pressure. Daniel took several swings at the lead high and low on the Oltz Installation 29, but it was an overheating engine under a lap 15 caution that ruined all Oltz’s fun postrace plans when he pulled pit side.
When the checkered fell, it was Patrik Daniel winning over Tommy Rascoe, John Sliney, Richard Holt and Richard Mills.
