Column By: TOM WENNER / RPW – QUAKERTOWN, PA – Veteran dirt Modified driver, Rick Laubach, has announced a significant change to his racing schedule.

Laubach confirmed that he will be moving his Saturday night home track allegiance from Bridgeport Motorsports Park to Grandview Speedway for the remainder of the 2025 season and beyond, where he will compete in the Herrmann Motorsports #7.

Laubach, a respected competitor with a long and successful career in the Modified ranks, cited several key factors influencing his decision.

“Bridgeport has been a big part of my racing life, and I’ve enjoyed my time there, but sometimes a track’s characteristics just don’t align with your driving style and equipment setup,” Laubach explained. “The specific demands of the Bridgeport surface, particularly with its left-side panhard bar setup, doesn’t quite suit my preference for a right-side bar, which is something I’ve always felt more comfortable and consistent with.”

The move to the iconic Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA, is driven by a desire for a different style of racing.

“Grandview offers a different challenge, one that truly plays to my strengths,” Laubach continued. “I really enjoy the multiple racing grooves that Grandview often develops, which creates more opportunities for passing and just a different kind of competition. It’s a track where patience and strategic maneuvering can pay off, and I’m genuinely excited to make it our new Saturday night home, allowing the Herrmann Motorsports #7 to consistently showcase its potential.”

This strategic move also offers a better fit for the team’s main partners, Progressive Propane and Blinderman & Son.

“Honestly, having a track that really suits our car and how I like to drive is a big plus for our sponsors,” Laubach added. “With Progressive Propane and Blinderman & Son both being closer to Grandview, this move means they’ll get more exposure and chances to connect directly with the people there, which is ultimately what we want to deliver for them.”

Laubach and the Herrmann Motorsports team are eager to embark on this new chapter at the “Hill” and look forward to competing weekly against the track’s strong contingent of Modified talent.
