Spring Nationals Points Chase Comes To A Close In Memorial Day Weekend Tripleheader

Story By: RYAN DELPH / SPRING NATIONALS SERIES – BRASSTOWN, NC – With eight races already in the books in 2025, the points portion of the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco schedule comes to a close over the Memorial Day weekend with a trio of events in the states of Georgia and Tennessee.
An $8,553 winner’s check will be on the line in the weekend lid lifter on Friday, May 23 at Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Georgia. A pair of $10,053 top prizes will then be up for grabs on Saturday, May 24 at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia and on Sunday, May 25 at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee.
Seven different winners have celebrated in Schaeffer’s Oil Victory Lane on tour this year with only series point leader Garrett Smith winning twice (Buckshot Speedway, Rockcastle Speedway). Other Spring Nationals winners so far this year include Chris Madden (Swainsboro Raceway), Cody Overton (Senoia Raceway), Brandon Overton (East Alabama Motor Speedway), Ricky Weiss (I-75 Raceway), Tyler Erb (Tazewell Speedway), and Jimmy Owens (Lake Cumberland Speedway). Smith currently leads Wil Herrington in the championship chase by only twenty markers heading into Friday’s showdown at Sugar Creek Raceway.
At Sugar Creek, the pit gates will open at 3:00pm on Friday and the grandstands will start to allow fans into the facility at 5:00pm. The drivers meeting is set for 6:30pm and hot laps will light the track up starting at 7:00pm. Adult admission into the stands will be $25.00, while an adult pit pass will be $45.00. Kids ages 11-15 will be admitted into the stands for $15.00 and into the pits for $25.00. Children ages 10 and under will be allowed onto the grounds for FREE.
Joining the ground-pounding Super Late Models will be the 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, and Front Wheel Drives. To cap off the evening, a 100-lap Enduro will thrill the fans, as drivers will be gunning for a $2,500 winner’s check. There will be a $150.00 entry fee for the Enduros and a reminder that only Rear Wheel Drive cars are allowed. Top five payout with a guaranteed purse. Harris Speedway rules apply.

In Saturday’s annual ‘Biddle Ridley Memorial’ at North Georgia, the pit gates will open at 2:30pm and the grandstands will start to allow patrons into the facility at 3:00pm. The drivers meeting is set for 6:00pm and hot laps will take to the track at 6:30pm. Adult admission will be $25.00 into the grandstands and $45.00 into the pit area. Kids ages 5-11 will be admitted into the stands for only $15.00 and into the pits for only $20.00. Children ages 4 and under will be allowed onto the grounds for FREE.
Joining the Super Late Models on the ‘Biddle Ridley Memorial’ racing card will be the 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Beginners, and Front Wheel Drives. North Georgia Speedway is located at 300 N GA Raceway Road in Chatsworth, Georgia.
On Sunday in the point finale at Duck River, the pit gates will open at 2:00pm and the grandstands will allow fans into the facility at 4:00pm. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 5:00pm and hot laps will follow. Grandstand admission will be $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids ages 6-12. Pit admission will be $50.00 for adults and $30.00 for kids ages 6-12. Children ages 5 and under will be allowed onto the grounds for FREE.
Joining the ground-pounding Super Late Models will be the 602 Late Model, Factory Stock, Economy 602, Pure Pony, Front Wheel Drive, Kids Mini Cup, Dwarf, Bomber, Open Wheel Modified, and Enduro divisions. The Spring Nationals tire rule in 2025 is Hoosier Racing Tire NLMT 2, 3, 4 and American Racer Tire 44, 48, Pro3/56, Pro4. Body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series – among others. The entry fee will be $100.00 each night and transponders will be available to rent. Any driver not advancing into the feature field will receive $75.00 in tow money.
