Story By: NATHAN ALDRICH / PENN CAN SPEEDWAY – SUSQUEHANNA, NY – Alan Rudalavage continued his Hall of Fame career at Penn Can Speedway picking up feature win number 37 collecting the checkers on Louie Sparks Memorial Night.

Alex Stanton has been a constant resident of the Heartbreak Hotel this season, leading up until lap 26 before a broken shock mount sent him pitside one week after losing a motor. Stanton and Bobby Puckett led the field to green with Puckett heading pitside with a broken front end before a lap could be completed.

Puckett’s tough break put Ken Titus on the outside of the front row. Titus would lead the way down the backstretch with the pair side by side at the flag stand. The highside momentum would keep Titus ahead at the flagstand each lap, but with 5 laps complete Titus drifted up the speedway with Stanton taking the lead. Rudalavage would squeeze under Titus to grab second with 7 laps down and the field stretched into a green flag run. With five laps to go Stanton began to work through lapped traffic, pulling to the infield the following lap as the shock gave out. Rudalavage fired well on the restart with Titus peeking on the inside off of turn 4. Titus would show the nose multiple times but couldn’t draw alongside as Rudlavage picked up the win with Titus, Kevin Hartnett, Brian Puckett and Brian Malcolm rounding out the top 5.
