Carey Terrance Reaches Mohawk International’s 358-Modified Victory Lane Friday

Story By: ROBERT HILL / MOHAWK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY – HOGANSBURG, NY – Fans and drivers alike were treated to a spectacular night of racing at the Mohawk International Raceway as Ellis Automotive presented our race program, which included Round #1 of the PM Promotions Pro-Stock Series — a six-race series featuring three races at Mohawk and three across the border at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Also on the card for the evening were the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Limited Sportsman, and Mini-Stocks.

The evening kicked off with the Limited Sportsman division, with nine competitors aiming to add a victory to their 2025 season. Heat wins went to Kobe Hernandez and Joe Chartier, with Chartier earning his first heat victory of his Limited Sportsman career. When the feature rolled around, Kobe Hernandez led the field to the green flag for their 15-lap race. Hernandez got off to a strong start, while Chartier bobbled early, losing positions. Graysen Reddick and Parker Dermody both put on impressive runs, advancing through the field in an effort to challenge Hernandez for the top spot. In the end, Kobe Hernandez took his second feature victory of the 2025 season.

Next up was the Mini-Stock class, an entry-level division featuring a small but mighty field. Brad Jerome secured the heat race victory over Emily Massy. Based on their heat finishes, Jerome and Massy started at the front for the 8-lap feature. Massy took the lead early and cruised to her second career feature victory.

The headlining PM Promotions Pro-Stock Series fielded a talented 30-car lineup. Heat race wins went to Marc Lalonde, Kevin Fetterly Jr., and Bruno Cyr. The top four from each heat advanced to the redraw, with Bastien Caron and Denis Gauvreau drawing the front row. Caron started strong as Roy and Gauvreau battled door-to-door behind him. However, on lap 8, Caron and Gauvreau made contact, sending Caron into the backstretch wall, which brought out the yellow flag. A lap later, Ricky Thompson spun, prompting another caution. Marc Lalonde capitalized on the restart, passing Gauvreau for the lead, with Sid Harmer Jr. following closely. Gauvreau retook the lead on lap 22 and held on to win, finishing ahead of Harmer Jr. and Lalonde.

Next, the DIRTCar Modifieds took the track. Carey Terrance won heat #1, Larry Welling dominated heat #2, and Jordan McCreadie claimed the checkered flag in heat #3. Terrance jumped to an early lead, while Chris Raabe advanced into a podium position early on. With 10 laps remaining, Raabe challenged Welling for second, pulling McCreadie along with him. After a heated battle within the top 10, Terrance secured the victory, with Raabe and McCreadie rounding out the top three.

Finally, the DIRTcar Sportsman division concluded the evening. Heat wins went to Brennan Moore, Eric Gauvreau, and Cory Castell, lining them up 1-2-3 for the 25-lap feature. Early contact between Moore and Gauvreau caused Gauvreau to fall back six positions before a caution on lap 1 for Ty David’s stopped car in turn 2. On the restart, Moore continued to lead as Kristian Smoke moved into the top three, followed by Shane Pecore and Fire Swamp. Brennan Moore captured his first victory of the season, finishing ahead of Shane Pecore and Tristan Ladoucer.
