Chris Dolan Sweeps 270 Time Trial Night At Linda’s Speedway

Story By: KASEY KREIDER / LINDA’S SPEEDWAY – JONESTOWN, PA – Entering Friday night’s 25-lapper at the Linda’s Speedway, Chris Dolan was looking to complete a rare perfect night in the Skeet Craft Collision 270 Time Trial Series.
He turned the fastest lap in time trials. He had won his heat race from the pole. Heck, he had even “won” hot laps. But the most impressive part of his evening was yet to come, as come A-Main time, he fended off two-time defending track champion Brandon Heist to score a statement win at the quarter-mile speedway.
Dolan was well in control early in the feature event, running blistering lap times and opening up a lead of nearly three seconds over second-place runner Brent Shearer before a caution flag waved on lap 10. However, the middle portion of the race is where Heist made his ground. He slipped past Shearer for the runner-up spot just prior to the halfway mark, and began carving chunks out of Dolan’s advantage.
As the leaders came up on lapped traffic, Heist closed to the back bumper of the No. 7D, but
another caution waved with six circuits remaining, putting the leaders in clean track for the rest of the race. Dolan pulled away by four car lengths on the restart before Heist quickly began to reel him back in. Heist caught Dolan, but the champion needed at least one more lap to move past “The Big Game Hunter,” as the former Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Race winner kept a tidy
line through turns 3 and 4 and held on by just 0.134 seconds for the victory.
The Hoosier Tire Wingless 600 Micro Sprints capped off their busy stretch of five features in the span of four weeks on Friday night. In a role reversal from last weekend, defending Winged 600 champion Brent Shearer led Chase Schott across the finish line to score his first Wingless 600 triumph at the quarter-mile, adding to wins in 270, Winged 600, 600 Modified, and 125 Micro
Sprint competition.
In his first outing of 2025 at Linda’s, Korey Inglin put on a masterclass of rolling the bottom in the 20-lap Xcel 600 Modified feature. Inglin led all 20 laps from the outside pole and made himself the fourth different winner in four Modified races in 2025.
The Skeet Craft Collision Junior Sprints finally got the chance to open their 2025 season at Linda’s following several early-season rainouts. After only mustering a third-place finish in his heat race, defending track champion and National Open winner Jase Smith rebounded in the feature to grab the checkered flag following a thrilling four-car battle for the win.
The East Coast Legends Series ran two features at the quarter-mile on Friday night, with the first one being a makeup event from the Earman Fulk Memorial on April 25. In race number one, Ryan Walls came out on top, charging up from the sixth position and making the race-winning pass on Colton Friese on the eighth lap.
Friese got the last laugh in the second 20-lapper, though, as he continued his run of early season success with the touring series by making a slick move on the bottom groove with seven laps to go, going from third to first in the span of a straightaway and holding on for the win.
Linda’s Speedway returns to competition next Friday, June 20 with a “5 for $5” show at the
quarter-mile. The Mt. Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprints will be joined by the Hoosier Tire Winged 600 Micro Sprints. The Bernheisel Race Components Chargers and the GP Motorsports Front Wheel Drive Cars will combine for a double dosage of stock car action. And the Midgets will make their first of four remaining scheduled appearances in 2025.
