Column By: MIKE WARREN / DIRTCAR – CORNWALL, ONT – For the first time in six seasons, the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series makes its triumphant return to Canada.

The best full-fender drivers in the Northeast will visit Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 15, for a 30-lap Feature paying $1,500-to-win (CAN).

Joining the Pro Stocks on the card are the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, Novice Sportsman, Mini-Stock, and Vintage cars.

Here are the key storylines to watch at Cornwall:

Stefanski’s Defense: After winning his fifth DIRTcar Pro Stock Series title in 2024, Pete Stefanski hasn’t missed a beat so far in 2025.

The North Tonawanda, NY driver has three victories at Albany-Saratoga this season and leads the track’s point standings. Out of his 27 Series victories, two of them are at Cornwall. However, those came in 2007 and 2008.

He’s searching for his first Series win since the World Short Track Championship at the Dirt Track at Charlotte in 2023.

Canadian Contingent: With two races complete in Cornwall’s 2025 season, a pair of Canadian drivers have reached Victory Lane.

Denis Gauvreau won on the track’s opening night and leads the track’s standings entering this weekend. The Gatineau, QC driver is a three-time Series winner—his most recent coming at The Dirt Track at Charlotte last year. However, he’s searching for his first Series victory at Cornwall.

The other winner at Cornwall this season is Marc Lalonde, who’s kicking off his final DIRTcar Pro Stock season. The Plantagenet, ON driver has never won a DIRTcar Pro Stock Series race but has three track championships at the 1/4-mile track. In six Features in 2025, Lalonde has four top fives and six top 10s.

Jocelyn Roy, a three-time DIRTcar Pro Stock Series champion, will join Gauvreau and Lalonde this weekend. The Sainte-Helen, QC driver, is a four-time Series winner but has never won a Series event outside of Quebec. Roy hasn’t finished outside the top five in three starts this season.

Kings of the Capital: Joining Stefanski and Canadian competitors at Cornwall will be a stout group of Capital Region drivers hoping to take home the winning prize.

That group is led by 2023 Series champion Luke Horning, who already has a win on a 1/4-track this season at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. In 10 starts in 2025, the Gloversville, NY driver has eight top fives and nine top 10s.

Horning is searching for his eighth career Series victory, and his first in Canada.

Joining Horning this weekend at Cornwall will be Jason Casey, who finished fourth in last year’s Series standings, and Devon Camenga, who finished sixth. Camenga has two victories so far this season, winning two Features at Utica-Rome Speedway. Casey, meanwhile, has three top 10s in four starts this season.

Both drivers are searching for their first DIRTcar Pro Stock Series victory.

Also expected to join the field from the Capital Region this weekend are Phil Defiglio, from Ballston Spa, NY and Zach Sorrentino, from Lee, MA.
