Danny Bouc Wins New Egypt Speedway’s Modified Feature Saturday Night

Story By: CHRIS MOORE / NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY – NEW EGYPT, NJ – Another Thriller. For the second time this season, Danny Bouc emerged victorious from a thrilling main event at New Egypt Speedway over a 25 car Modified field.
The driver of the Craig and Leslie Pondish owned No. 6 chased fellow Keystone State driver Tanner Van Doren 15 consecutive laps, before making the pass coming to the checkered out of turn four.
Bouc claimed the victory by the length of a wheel to take home the victory.
“I just had to throw a Hail Mary on the last lap,” Bouc exclaimed. “I hated to take that one away from Tanner, they are a great family.”
Van Doren, who was running the outside groove for much of the time he was out in front, was a “sitting duck,” Bouc explained.
“He was out in front and it’s hard to know how the track is changing when you’re leading,” stated the Pipersville, Pa. native. “I saw he wasn’t making as much speed on the top, so I kept trying the bottom.
“I found one strip of brown through the middle we made it work at the end,” he concluded.
Bouc came from the 12th starting spot quickly working his way into the third spot on lap seven, taking advantage of a lap four restart.
From there, Bouc pursued Van Doren and leader Dominick Buffalino.
Van Doren worked around Buffalino to take the lead on lap 12, with Bouc getting by and taking the runner-up spot on lap 15.
From there, Bouc chased Van Doren around the D-shaped 7/16th mile oval until making his move coming to the checkered flag.
The win for Bouc was the 21st of his New Egypt Speedway career and his second of 2025 just ahead of Tuesday’s Short Track Super Series ‘Dirty Jersey’ event, which Bouc is the defending winner of.
Van Doren settled for the runner-up spot, one corner shy of his first career New Egypt Speedway triumph.
“It’s been a tough week, we lost my pappy this week,” Van Doren explained. “That was for him, we almost got him one, and we’re gonna come back trying even harder for one.”
Frenchtown, N.J.’s Billy Pauch Jr. charged from the 13th starting position to third, closing in on the leaders at the end before the 30-lap main event was complete.
Trenton, N.J.’s Davey Sammons came home in fourth and Sayreville, N.J.’s Dominick Buffalino completed the top five.
Finishing sixth through tenth, respectively, were Ringoes, N.J.’s Ryan Godown; Hopewell, N.J.’s D.J. Hunt; Neshanic Station, N.J.’s Matt Stangle; Vineland, N.J.’s Anthony Tramontana; and Upper Black Eddy, Pa.’s Jim Housworth completed the top ten.
Heat winners were Tramontana, Hunt, and Corey Cormier.
Taunton, Mass. native Mick D’Agostino came from the fifth starting position to lead the final seven laps of the 15-lap affair to pick up the victory.
D’Agostino used the bottom groove to slip by leader Brendan Hires at the completion of lap nine. From there, D’Agostino set sail, picking up the win by over three seconds.
Hires claimed the runner-up spot with Heidi Hedin, Al Cheney, and Joey Crilly completing the top five.
The 600 Xcel Modifieds made their return to New Egypt Speedway for the first time in over a decade.
Leesport, Pa.’s Doug Newbigging led all 20 laps of the caution free affair to pick up the victory.
Guy Sutton, Korey Inglin, Richie Hitzler, and Griffin Hendershot completed the top five.
In Xtreme Diesel Performance, LLC. (XDP) Street Stock competition, Tuckerton, N.J.’s Pat Force slipped by Milford, N.J.’s Kory Fleming coming to the white flag to claim the win.
The win was Force’s first of the season, leading only the final two laps to pick up the big win ahead of next weeks ‘Bill Liedtka Memorial,’ a $1,310-to-win affair for the XDP Street Stocks.
Fleming, Rob Ormsbee, Scott Freed, and Chris Allen Sr. completed the top five.
Next up at New Egypt Speedway is the 11th annual ‘Dirty Jersey’ with the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series rolling into town on Tuesday, June 24.
The STSS Modifieds and STSS Crate Sportsman are joined by the Four Cylinders for a three-division show.
For the June 24 event, pit gates open at 4 p.m. with grandstands unlocking at 5 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow at 7:15 p.m.
