Corey Wheeler Victorious On Autograph Night At Cornwall Motor Speedway

Story By: MARTIN BRLANGER / CORNWALL MOTOR SPEEDWAY – CORNWALL, ON – Despite Mother Nature throwing a few curveballs throughout the day, Cornwall Motor Speedway extended its streak to seven consecutive events by presenting a full night of racing action on Propane Levac Night, featuring the ever-popular Autograph Night.

The headline event, the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modified feature, saw Corey Wheeler take control early, leading the way over Brian McDonald and Jackson Gill. A strong charge from Brianna Ladouceur put her into third by lap 3 before Steve Bernier entered the top three shortly after. At the halfway point, lap traffic became a factor before a caution was brought out by Ladouceur with 15 laps remaining. On the restart, Wheeler maintained his lead with Bernier slotting into second. Wheeler never looked back, collecting his first win of the 2025 season in Cornwall, followed by Bernier and McDonald.

In the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman feature, Tristan Ladouceur dominated from start to finish. After grabbing the early lead from Brennan Moore and Jeff Lapalme, cautions on laps 7 and 11 briefly slowed the field. Elliott Gamache, who started 14th, worked his way into the top three. Despite the pressure, Ladouceur held steady to claim his second win of the season, ahead of Lapalme and Gamache.

The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock completed the evening as Denis Gauvreau took the leader over Dan Reif and Eric Jean-Louis. JP Guay spun in turn 4 and yellow was out on lap 3. Gauvreau in front of Marc Lalonde as Burton Ward was now in third. Lalonde used in the inside lane and passed Gauvreau for the lead with 10 laps in. While running second, Gauvreau broke in turn 4 and yellow was out with 6 laps to go. Lalonde led the final laps to score his third feature of the season.

The Rick Ranch Mini-Stock 20-lap feature brought early drama as Christopher Proulx led the first four laps before a red flag was issued for a flip involving Christian Charbonneau, who was fortunately uninjured. Antoine Dumouchel capitalized on the restart, took the lead, and pulled away to secure his second feature win of 2025, with Proulx and Martin Bernard completing the podium.

In the Fun Zone Party Inflatables Novice Sportsman feature, Jacorey Arquiett claimed the win in the 10-lap sprint, holding off Garin Thompson in a solid outing for both drivers.

The program also included the Alexandria Home Improvement Pro-Stock makeup feature from June 1st. Jocelyn Roy jumped to the early lead over Marc Lalonde, while Kevin Fetterly ran in third. Cautions on laps 10 and 18 reset the field, and Burton Ward worked his way into contention. A red flag with 5 laps to go saw Marc Peladeau roll in turn 2, but he was thankfully uninjured. Roy remained unfazed and led the final laps to earn his first Pro-Stock win of the year.

Wednesday, July 16 – Don’t miss the biggest event of the regular season: the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series invades Cornwall for a 100-lap, $10,000-to-win spectacular. Some of the top drivers from across the Northeast are expected to make the trip for this high-stakes showdown.
