Story By: DAVE MEDLER / BREWERTON SPEEDWAY – BREWERTON, NY – Friday night at Brewerton Speedway Kyle Devendorf created a lifetime memory winning his first career Tracey Road DIRTcar Big Block Modified feature.

In the 35-Lap Modified feature with a DIRTcar 358 Modified motor under the hood Devendorf took the lead on a lap 16 restart. Once in the lead he held off all challenges including a late charge by 2024 track champion Tim Sears Jr.

With Kyle Devendorf’s win, the streak continues with no repeat winners this season in the Modifieds.

Other winners on J. Gordon Contracting night. Hunter Hollenbeck (DOT Foods DIRTcar Sportsman) Jason Barney (Empire Super Sprints) Nate Powers (Mirabito DIRTcar Four Cylinder Super Stocks).

Max Hill and Kyle Devendorf brought the 35-Lap Modified feature to the green will Hill grabbing the early lead.

Hill would open a comfortable lead on lap 10 in his small block. Devendorf, Jason Parkhurst was second and third also in small blocks with Chad Phelps and Todd Root in the top five.

A caution lap 16 would see Hill’s two second lead go away. Hill, Devendorf, Parkhurst, Phelps, and Nick Root would be the top five for the restart.

When the race went back to green Devendorf got a great restart and bolted to the lead. Tim Sears Jr. started 15th using the top side of the speedway drove into the top five.

A caution on lap 27 would slow the pace. Devendorf, Sears, still using the top would fire off second. Hill, Phelps, and Parkhurst would restart third through fifth for the shootout to the finish.

When the race went back to green Kyle Devendorf did not flinch as he outran Tim Sears Jr. to the checkers for his first career Modified win at the ‘D-Shaped Dirt Demon.’ Max Hill, Chris Hulsizer, and Chad Phelps completed the top five.

Cautions on lap 3 and lap 5 would slow the pace. Lap 5 restart would see Wahdan, Owen Bird, Hunter Hollenbeck, Cody Manitta, and Dylan Piersall the top five. Bird jumped the start and would be penalized the next caution.

After staring 8th Hollenbeck would drive into the lead on lap 9 and would put distance between himself and the tight battle for second between Manitta and Nick Ventura.

With 10 laps to go Hollenback as still in control out front as Manitta and Tony Finch II from 15th slugged it out for second and third with Jason Parkhurst Jr. from 14th and Nick Ventura fourth and fifth.
