Brett Tonkin Takes Home The Checkered Flag at Penn Cann on Friday

Story By: NATHAN ALDRICH / PENN CANN SPEEDWAY – SUSQUEHANNA, PA – Brett Tonkin graced Victory Lane fresh off his Hall of Fame induction Friday after leading every lap of the feature event. Brian Malcolm slipped past Alex Stanton on the opening straightaway to grab the second spot while Tonkin set a furious pace opening up a half straight away lead in the first five laps.

Nick Petrilak’s rollercoaster 2025 season continued, winning last week and slowing to a stop to bring out the first yellow with 5 laps complete. Tonkin elected for the outside on the restart, powering down the front stretch as Malcolm fended off challenges from Justin Holland. Brian Puckett and Darwin Greene made heavy contact as Greene’s machine slowed down the front stretch and headed pitside at halfway. The contact would cost Puckett multiple spots as he hopped on the binders. Bad luck continued for Puckett as both he and Bobby tangled coming to the white flag, setting up a four lap dash to the finish. Tonkin aced the restart and pulled away with Malcolm, Holland, Stanton and Danny Tyler completing the top 5.
