Weedsport Speedway Posting $17,600 Winner’s Prize for Super DIRTcar Series Cavalcade Cup on September 6
Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT SPEEDWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – This year’s Cavalcade Cup at Weedsport Speedway will see quite a bit extra on the line, as a winner’s prize of $17,600 will be offered to the first driver to see the checkered flag in the 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series main event on Saturday, September 6.
Presented by Stirling Lubricants and Maxima Racing Oils, the night will be lucrative across the board, as the DIRTcar Sportsman Series will also join the evening for their annual Sportsman Classic 75, paying a hefty $2,500 to the victor.
If that’s not enough, fans will also be treated to the postponed CRSA Sprint Car main event held over from July 26.
The Super DIRTcar Series Cavalcade Cup 100 will be the fourth series event of the season at Weedsport, with Stewart Friesen and most recently, Peter Britten, visiting Victory Hill. The Cavalcade Cup 100 will follow upcoming Super DIRTcar Series events at Lebanon Valley Speedway and Can-Am Speedway.
As of August 26, Mat Williamson continues to lead the way in the series standings over Alex Yankowski, Matt Sheppard, Alex Payne, Erick Rudolph, Mike Mahaney, Britten, Anthony Perrego, Tim Sears and Jack Lehner.
Other notables to be on hand on September 6 include Felix Roy, Jimmy Phelps, Max McLaughlin, Darren Smith, Justin Stone, plus many more with the extra winner’s share on the line.
In Sportsman competition this year at Weedsport it has been Richard Murtaugh, Emmett Waldron, Austin Germinio, Tyler Corcoran and Mike Fowler at the top of the points. Those drivers will be among the top runners aiming for $2,500 on September 6.
Joining them will be series front runners Gavin Eisele, Tristan Ladouceur, Shane Pecore, Jessica Power, Zach Buff and more including the likes of Cody McPherson.
Tickets for Weedsport’s Cavalcade Cup 100 can be purchased online by clicking the Tickets tab on the top right-hand corner of the Weedsport Speedway website at www.weedsportspeedway.com.
Reserved seating is set at $40 with adult general admission being $35. Youth general admission (11-17) is $15 with kids 10 and under, FREE.
Advance sale adult reserved and GA tickets are available online at a $5 discount through August 31.
Member pit pass pricing is $40 with non-member admission set at $45.
Pit gates are set to open on September 6 at 4 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m. and racing set to start at 7 p.m.
