Lilly Esterly Prevails in Prestigious Lebanon Valley 15 at the Linda’s Speedway

Story By: KASEY KREIDER / LINDA’S SPEEDWAY – JONESTOWN, PA – For Exeter’s Lilly Esterly, “home” for her 2025 racing season has been the Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, PA. And like the old saying goes, there’s been no place like home for the young rising star of the Junior Slingshot division.

After picking up her first Linda’s Speedway win in one of the feel-good stories of the season back in June, Esterly made lightning strike twice on Friday night at the quarter-mile, as she scored the victory in the biggest Junior Slingshot event in the 50-year history of the racetrack – the Lebanon Valley 15.

Despite a strong field of 21 cars with drivers coming from all over the northeast, Esterly protected her home turf in time trials to start out the evening, going quickest in both rounds of qualifying to secure her spot on pole position for the 15-lap A-Main event.

Once the race began, Esterly’s No. 1 continued to look fully in control, as she built up a lead of nearly three seconds over the rest of the field before a late-race caution flag waved with just four laps remaining.

Unfazed, Esterly hit her marks perfectly over the final mile of competition, grabbing the win, the trophy, and the $515 cash prize to the winner – a monetary figure that doesn’t even include the lap money and several contingency prizes that Esterly claimed throughout the night. Charlie Geibel came home with a runner-up finish in the feature, while Anthony Ciccone rounded out the podium.

In other Friday night action, the Mt. Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprints saw a first-time Linda’s Speedway winner, as Lebanon’s Isaac Graby broke through for his first win at the quarter-mile.

Graby wheeled his No. 77G into the winner’s circle after leading all 25 laps, pacing Bennett Skelton and brother Austin Graby across the line at the finish.

The All Star Slingshots ran a doubleheader on Friday night, with the first race being a makeup feature from July 25. In that event, Schuylkill Haven’s Tyler Ulsh claimed a dominant win, taking the checkers over seven seconds ahead of the rest of the pack to pick up his first Linda’s victory since August of 2023.

In the second All Star Slingshot race of the night, it was three-time track champion Dave Carraghan fending off Brett Bieber on a late restart to score his second win of the season. In the process, Carraghan extended his points lead atop the standings in pursuit of title number four at the quarter-mile.

Although Chase Schott looked to be in position to win Friday’s Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Winged 600 Micro Sprint event, an apparent engine issue forced him out of the race with seven laps left, handing the lead over to Boyertown’s Cody West. West got his redemption for an early-season heartbreak by holding on the rest of the way to claim the checkered flag.

The GP Motorsports Front Wheel Drive Cars ran their penultimate race of the 2025 season, and Palmyra’s Shane Flaherty used a thrilling fourth-to-first move on the opening lap to make it back-to-back victories in the division. Flaherty will enter the Sept. 26 season-finale for the Front Wheel Drive Cars just seven points behind Bill Sherwood in the championship standings.

Another packed night of racing will hit the quarter-mile on Friday, Sept. 12, as the Bernheisel Race Components Chargers will run a doubleheader, with their makeup feature from July 25 in addition to a regular show. The Xcel 600 Modified Tour will also be “playing two,” as those drivers will contest twin 20-lap features next weekend. The Mt. Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprints and the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Wingless 600 Micro Sprints make up the remainder of the racing card.
