Monster Cash at Thunder Mountain’s Monster Bash Set For Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st
Story By: MIKE MALLETT / THUNDER MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY – CENTER LISLE, NY – Thunder Mountain Speedway is excited to announce that the Second Annual Monster Bash on the Mountain, scheduled for October 31 and November 1, will feature increased payouts, returning sponsors, and expanded racing divisions.
Nearly all sponsors from 2024 are returning for the 2025 edition, including Stafursky Paving, Speed Sport 1, and Eagle Ridge Construction. New partners have also joined the event, including J Gordon Contracting LLC, which will sponsor the 600cc Sprints, and MJH Oilfield Services, which will present the NY Penn IMCA Modifieds, the newest division added to the Monster Bash lineup.
Friday night’s program on October 31 will feature several high-paying races. The 600cc Modifieds will compete in a 40-lap Hustling the Highway Series event sponsored by Eagle Ridge Construction, paying $2,000 to the winner. The 600cc Winged Sprints, supported by J Gordon Contracting LLC, will run a 20-lap feature paying $500 to win and $100 for tenth place. The Chad Sindoni Memorial Factory Stocks race will be a 40-lap contest offering $1,500 to win and $100 to start. The NY Penn IMCA Ed and Jan Billings Classic, presented by MJH Oilfield Services, will pay $3,016 to win and $200 to start in a 30-lap event.
Modified and Sportsman drivers will take part in two timed hot lap sessions Friday night. The fastest driver in each session will automatically advance to Saturday’s redraw, bypassing the heat races. Speed 71 and Design will award $100 to the second-fastest driver in each session for both divisions, with an additional $100 wild card prize to be drawn. At the end of Friday’s program, Modified and Sportsman competitors will have the opportunity for additional track time during an open practice session.
Saturday’s program on November 1 will be headlined by the Stafursky Paving Modifieds in a 40-lap feature paying $4,000 to win and a minimum of $450 to start. Heat race winners will receive $50 courtesy of Bill Brown and Company, and each Modified driver who fails to qualify will receive $75 in tow money, thanks to an anonymous sponsor. The Speed Sport 1 Sportsman division will race for a $2,000 winner’s check and a minimum of $225 to start. Randy and Sandy Mallett have added $100 bonuses for each heat race winner, while each consolation race winner will receive $50.
The Eagle Ridge 600cc Modifieds return Saturday for a 25-lap feature paying $1,000 to win. The Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series will round out the weekend’s racing card.
Family-friendly Halloween activities will also be part of the weekend. Prior to the start of Friday’s races, kids can enjoy the Candy Crawl Through the Pits, where they’ll collect Halloween treats from Friday night competitors. A costume contest will take place during intermission. More information on Halloween activities will be available on Thunder Mountain Speedway’s social media channels at a later date.
The Monster Cash program also returns for 2025, with limited spots still available for purchase at $250 each. Every participant is randomly assigned a starting position in the Stafursky Modified feature. At the conclusion of the race, the winner of the $4,000 Modified feature will draw three starting positions to award bonus payouts: $1,500 to the first position drawn, $750 to the second, and $350 to the third. All proceeds from the program are returned directly to the drivers.
All divisions will compete on Hoosier tires under Thunder Mountain’s weekly rules, with the exception of Factory Stocks, which will race on DOT tires and follow home track rules. Friday racing will begin at 7:00 p.m., with Saturday’s program set to begin at 2:00 p.m. Free camping is available all weekend, with no electric or water hookups.
The 2024 Monster Bash on the Mountain featured the highest car count in the Northeast for that weekend, with over 200 cars and more than $40,000 paid out in cash and contingencies across the two-day event. Organizers expect similar or greater participation in 2025.
Thanks to all 2025 sponsors including Stafursky Paving Company, Inc., Speed Sport 1, Eagle Ridge Construction, MJH Oilfield Services, and J Gordon Contracting LLC for their continued support of the Monster Bash on the Mountain.
