RPW Exclusive: NYS Fairgrounds Set to Host Annual Northeast Racing Products Auction/Trade Show and Swap Meet This Weekend
RPW Exclusive By: JOE PHILLIPS / RPW – SYRACUSE, NY – A yearly tradition in the New York State racing industry is the annual Northeast Racing Auction/ Trade Show and Swap Meet at the Expo Center at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York. This year’s edition of the show will take place on Fri. Nov. 21st from 1pm-8pm and Sat. Nov. 22nd from 9am-5pm.
With the on track action for 2025 all but wrapped up, the show essentially puts a bowtie to an action packed and drama filled racing season in the Northeast.
The show features cars of both the dirt and asphalt varieties. Many different brands of chassis builders such as Bicknell Racing Products, DKM, Troyer, and Bernheisel will be present at this weekend’s show to answer questions and allow drivers and teams to see new features and models up close. It has become a common theme in years past that many drivers purchase their new cars for next summer at this show.
Other vendors scheduled to be in attendance include popular seat manufacturers such as Kirkey Racing Fabrication, Butler Built, The Joie of Seating, as well as safety equipment vendors such as Velocita and Leaf Racewear. Drivers can personally be fitted for containment seats and fire suits right at the show, which is extremely convenient as sort of a “one stop shop” opportunity. With a well fitted seat and safety equipment, a driver can focus on driving and not have to worry about their gear.
Seminars are also being offered by a few different vendors on both Friday and Saturday. These seminars are by reservation only and are filling fast.
A large part of the show every year is the auction. Both complete cars and equipment are up for auction. Some of the equipment is slightly used, but vendors will offer brand new race cars and engines for the auction.
If a live auction is not ones style, a large swap meet will also be held at the event center. Cars, engines, drivetrains, wheels and various other components will be offered for sale. The swap meet allows teams to clean unwanted equipment out of the shop, and offers parts at affordable prices for every team.
The show is also not just for racers. There will be other vendors selling collectables and merchandise for the casual fan. Some of these vendors expected are Primal Tee Shop, Fast Girlz Apparel, Wicked Tees, Swagger Factory Apparel and White Knuckle Clothing.
Speaking of the fans, some of the area’s tracks and series will be on hand as well, offering t-shirts for sale while also potentially offering a sneak peek as to what is in store for the 2026 racing season. Some of the tracks and series scheduled on the list include Thunder Mountain Speedway, Utica-Rome Speedway, and the Short Track Super Series.
From simple window shopping to making serious equipment purchases, this trade show is always fun and provides a great environment for the racing community to make connections before next season’s green flag flies. Food and beverages are also available, via the concession area and a few vendors.
Plan on coming out and spending the day seeing old friends and making new ones. Possibly, you might even be able to treat the racer in your life to an early Christmas present as well.
